Covid Safety:
If you have cold like symptoms stay at home. Practice Social distancing of 2 meters. Don't touch each others discs. Face masks are recommended. Please do not congregate in massive groups. If we are meeting to set up cards you can hang out with your card mates but try and distance your group from other groups. Please follow current safety guidelines.
League Matches:
League matches will take place once during the week between Monday and Friday and once on Sunday. You are welcome to challenge players for more matches in between official league rounds. League matches will be scored on the Udisc App. To play in a League match you must play with at least one other league member. They don't need to be in the same division as you.
Udisc:
If you don't have udisc please download the app. You will need to make an account to score and submit your match. To start your match click the events tab on the bottom. "Regina 2021 Bagtag League" should be an option to click through and start your scorecard. You will need to Check In and select your division. If you have issues finalizing your score card please screenshot it and send it to me.
Weekly Round:
Due to the popularity of the sport and the extensive use of the park I'm opening up Tuesdays evening match to the entire week. You will now be able to play your round from Monday at 8am to Friday at 9pm. I will still host a match open for all players Tuesdays at 6pm. If participation is too excessive I will scale back Tuesday evening rounds and try to push for more matches to be spread out during the week. With Covid we need to keep gatherings to a minimum. We also can't just swamp the course. It has reached a point with disc golf being so popular that we now regularly have cards backed up through each and every hole. If this is the case it's going to be really annoying for the average disc golfer just trying to play a round after work. If you can arrange your card with your friends for another day or time please do so. It will not affect your ability to win prizes. If you don't have plans to play with others we can line you up with a card Tuesday at 6pm. Please bear with us while we sort out a good balance to this. I hope to keep delays to a minimum. If Tuesday doesn't work for your schedule please use the Facebook Bag Tag Page (join it if you haven't already) to line up matches with others.
Friday Last call:
On Fridays I will do a shoutout on the Facebook Bag Tag Page for a round at 6pm. This will be the Final round to get in before I submit scores later that night.
Prizes:
Prizes for the Weekly round will now apply to the whole week. I will try and mix things up. It will be things like a birdy hole or a bogey hole. I will take everyone who gets a birdy ( or bogey) on a certain hole and put them in a draw for a prize. I will also be giving prizes based on placements in each division. More methods will come up but this is what I'm running with for now. Prizes will be electronic Gift Cards that will be sent to your email. They will be for one of the local disc golf shops.
Sunday Afternoon Alternate Course Match
On Sundays we will be doing an alternate course from 1pm to 5pm. It will usually be hosted at Douglas Park with an alternate layout. I'm also really excited to be working with the basket brigade run by Adam Holmes. We're planning on doing pop courses around Regina. My plan for league is to utilize this opportunity to play new courses. If you have any baskets to lend out to us for these days we would greatly appreciate it. For more info please reach out to Adam Holmes on facebook. Sundays Alternate course round can be found in the Udisc events page. Sunday will also be used for the PDGA league later this summer.
Disc Golf Scene:
To view your tag rankings and upload custom matches we will be using the website:
https://www.discgolfscene.com/leagues/Regina_League_2021 I'll be uploading everyone's info into the site this week. You will be able to post custom matches (Not league Events) throughout the week. The way this will work in conjunction with the League Events is that you will play your weekly rounds through UDisc from which I will upload. For Custom Matches you will use the site and upload them yourself. How it works is that if you play a custom match the tags will exchange right at the time of uploading. For the Weekly Round tags will be exchanged Friday evening.
Declare your Weekly Round before your Match:
If you are doing a League round you need to declare it before throwing your first hole. No playing the first few holes to get a feel for how the round is going before inputting your scores. The second your match starts you need to input those scores in the udisc event. This is an honor system. Please play fair.
Tournament rules apply to this league:
Proper etiquette is expected. No practice throws are allowed in your round. If you miss a putt and throw another one out of frustration it will count as another stroke. Players must referee their own matches. It's up to the card to call them out. OB Rules are applied. When judging a disc on the edge of OB if the disc is hanging on to the fairway by a single blade of grass it is considered in bounds. However if the OB line is clearly visible beside the disc it is considered OB and a stroke will be applied. The next shot will be taken 1 meter in from where the disc exited out of bounds. I have attached a map with all the OB lines on the course for reference. Any discs thrown into the lake , street, or backyard of someone's home are considered out of bounds.
Basket Raffle:
This year I'm excited to have a Latitude 64 Probasket Trainer to raffle off at the end of the year for Competitive players and an MVP Blackhole to raffle for the Rec League. The way you increase your chances of winning is to play more rounds. If you play your weekly round you are welcome to play more custom rounds with other players.
Tag Trophies:
Physical tag trophies will be made up and given out after the Finals are completed.
Aces:
All Aces in competitive league will get $20 per ace up to a maximum of 10 aces for the year.
Ties:
Tie breakers will be decided by whoever had the lower tag before that match.
Inactive Top Tag players will be bumped:
The top tag players in each division are expected to play on a weekly basis. If you hold on to a high level tag and don't play for two weeks I will bump your tag position.
In Closing:
I hope these rules make sense. Please let me know if you have any questions. I'm looking forward to league this year and hope everyone has a fun time. If you want to volunteer with helping out please let me know.
Thanks
Paul Levasseur
RDGA League Director
