About this league
Fee per round $10
If you have questions about PDGA leagues feel free to reach out to me but know that the link below should be able to help answer any questions you may have.
https://www.pdga.com/faq/leagues
The primary aim of this league is to:
Encourage PDGA participation and player rating development in the local area
Establish solid SSA's for both layouts at Mountainside
Provide an outlet for bag tag competition for our tag members
Encourage player development and equal opportunity through our handicap system
* Reward our most consistent performing tag holders through a point series
Here's what you need to know about the handicap :
ALL WOMEN WILL RECEIVE AN ADDITIONAL 4 STROKE HANDICAP ON TOP OF WHATEVER THEIR ESTABLISHED ONE IS.
The first six weeks were used as a trial to establish handicaps. In order to establish your handicap you will need to record at least two league rounds.
Handicaps will be established by taking your four most recent scores relative to par, averaging it and then multiplying by a factor of .9
2 examples:
Player A scores +1, +6, +2, +3 = 12 / 4 = 3 x .9 = 2.7 rounds to a handicap of 3
Player B scores -6, E, -4, -4 = -14 / 4 = 3.5 x .9 = 3.15 rounds to a handicap of -3
Any handicaps that end in .5 will be rounded in the player's favor.
Handicaps will be constantly changing as more rounds are recorded. A handicap will never be established by using more than 4 rounds. If you have recorded anywhere between 2 and 4 rounds all of those data points will be used. At 5 more rounds we will take your most recent 5 rounds and drop your best score from the calculation and then process the remaining 4.
An example:
Player A scores +1, -3, +6, +4, -1, +3, +1 in 7 consecutive weeks.
The handicap will be established using the +6, +4, +3, +1 for a HCAP of 3
The first two weeks were dropped due to "time outs" the -1 was dropped as the hottest score in the past 5 results and the remaining 4 scores were used.
Payouts
$6.50 to payout
$1 to ace pot
$1 to course
$1 to leaderboard prizes
$.50 to PDGA Fees
Payouts will be determined by handicapped scoring.
Tags will not be determined by handicapped scoring - they will follow raw score.
If you have yet to establish a handicap, you will be playing without one, which is to say par is par and your raw score will count towards both payout and tags.
Handicaps will have no impact on your PDGA ratings each week.
Please show up early so we can get started with plenty of daylight. Thanks!
