Thanks again to all the "Townies" and new players who made it out for league play this afternoon! It was nice to see multiple groups making their way around the course, and I know it increased the visibility for our sport. We are still working hard to procure both signs and pads to complete what will be a signature course in the area. The better participation we have the easier it is for us to make our case to the powers that be here on Ft. Riley and secure additional funding/support. We look forward to seeing everyone again next week, and hopefully everyone will bring a friend or three.
We have adjusted the tee pad markers for holes 1-8 and would appreciate any feedback. Tee pad locations will still be marked by a 24" PVC stake, but the leading edge of the tee pads are now marked by two low-profile markers. We plan on completing holes 9-18 this week notwithstanding a deluge of negative feedback on the new markers.
Also,
Course maps are now available in the white shadow box located at the "Y" in the road as you enter Moon Lake Park. If the white box is empty, contact Tom Lowman so he can refill it. Thanks.
I'll simply post directions to Moon Lake instead of meeting at the Conference Center.
With the grass being as bad as it is, I think I'm going to make the call to cancel the BRO league until further notice. During last weeks league, we spent half our time out there looking for discs in the middle of the fairway, and navigating the knee/hip high grass just wasn't fun...With the (hopefully) up and coming Moon Lake course in it's early stages, I invite anyone and everyone to come and walk the course on Sunday at 5:00 PM. We'll meet at the Conference Center and dri ... more
With daylight savings time come, We'll no longer be alternating Sundays with Rick's Warner league. Riley's BRO league will now be EVERY Sunday @ 1600 (4:00pm for all you wonderful civies out there). Warner league will now be every Wednesday @ 1730, and Tuttle Doubles is every Tuesday @ 1730. Hope to see you all when I get back on the 25th, the Mojave Desert is barren...especially of disc golf courses. I've got it so tough. Take care guys, and have fun!

It's my understanding that the proposed 11 and 12 were set up during the last league round at Riley on Sunday. What did everyone think? Tell me all about it, likes, dislikes, concerns etc. Like Zane said in a previous post, I believe this course has enough elevation and vegetation to make it great, it's just a matter of us finding the lines.
I'll be out of town for a baby shower this weekend, you know...real MAN stuff. So Jeremy Gentry will be keeping/posting scores for this Sunday's BRO league. Hope it goes well for everyone, let's see someone shoot in the 40's tomorrow!

Hey everyone! I did up a quick picture depicting changes I'm thinking of for holes #11 and #12 at the Conference Center. I wrote a lengthy description in the comment section for anyone who's interested in reading it. The new holes bring a lot to the table in terms of course flow and variety. Please take a second to give it a gander and tell me what you think. If anyone's interested, we can take some practice baskets out there and give em a try!
Don't forget guys! This Sunday is league day at the conference center, looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces.
I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner. I found a Tie-Dye Discraft Flick sitting near the teepad for Hole #1 at Riley a few weeks ago. Been asking around as to who it might belong to, to no avail. If that person is you, shoot me a message, I can get down to the Conference Center almost any day during lunch.

Just so everyone's tracking, tomorrow (Sunday's) Riley league will not be happening. All of the league administrators are out of town for Christmas. Unless a group of die-hards show up, haha. Which in that case, just send one of us (Rob, Matt, or Jeremy) the results and we'll post em up. Hope everyone has a great holiday.

Sundays' 1330, the 2nd and 4th weeks of each month though March. Come chuck some plates!
Several of us, primarily Duane and Myself will be out to clear us a new #5. we plan on making an official Par3 "wood" hole out of it, following that nice little left dog leg of 4. So if you want to hack, slash, cut, rip, tear, rend, smash, or burn, tis the season! Tools always welcome. Thanks gents. My cell 803 5710807.
Even with buckets of rain to greet us on the first 4 holes, fun was had by all in attendance at league this Sunday. October will mark the last month of 1600 Sundays. We will shift to 1330 Sundays on the 2nd and 4th week. 1st and third weeks will be hosted at Warner Park at 1330 Sundays. Unofficial league games are held all the time, see you on the green.
Due to winter being around the corner and diminishing our daylight, October will be our last month of 1600 play times. Starting November we will be playing the 2nd and 4th weeks of the month @ 1330 (as noted in the schedule) while Warner will be having their league the 1st and 3rd weeks @ 1330. This gives people rest that need it and the die hards an opportunity to chuck discs weekly with a showing of fellows. See you all on the green.
With Marks help a signature roster made it though Warner Wednesday and is making its rounds to complete at the sunday BRO league. Last I was told it had over 50 names of Disc Golfers that support the completion of this fine course. Thanks for all the support people.
Gentlemen of the Disc Golf. I am in need of more proof that this course is supported. Emails or scanned documents showing the want to support this course would help in getting cement pads easier. Please send all Disc Golf love to my email, or any other ideas via message. Currently we have a league, a map, pictures, a disc design, and a solid presentation. They want more.....I will keep poking gents. More to follow.
With the help of several volunteers, 5 baskets have been moved for new more skillful shots. Thanks for all the suppport on this ongoing project.
Beginning on 18 September, the league will shift Sunday league night to 1600. This will make sure that we have light to play on the new and beautiful hole 17. Come out and chuck some plates!
Some have already seen and played on the updated course. For those who have missed out....
We have shift 17 to its "classic" position and tee approach. We have shifted several tees for more commanding and inspiring starts. I acquired a billboard for the course affectionately named "billboard" (what you wanted something more creative!?) All current holes and tees have been GPS marked (thanks for your help duane) and will be received by the posts map dept. They will then creat ...

The department of Public Works is working though the red tape of actually moving the baskets and setting up tees. BUT we are moving forward.
