About this league
Fee to join $15
Fee per round $5
This is a coed rec doubles league. Men & Women winners win a trophy disc and plenty of CTPs throughout the season. Also if we average 9 players a week we'll give away a MVP Practice basket at the end of the season.
All dates subject to change.
Here are the rules:• We will do a draft type system. Whoever is in last place, or new, will pick their partner of the remaining players. Then next and so on. Any time whoever is picking can choose to play Cali if we have an odd number of people that week.
• The first week I will pass out cards 1-3 to the women (more or less depending on how many women show up) and 4-10 for the men. The woman with card 1 can pick anyone on their team. The woman with card 2 can pick anyone on their team. The woman with card 3 can pick anyone on their team only if the men’s winner from last season has already been picked. If he hasn’t been picked then that woman and him will be on the same team. The man with card 4 will get to pick his teammate and so on until everyone has picked.
• Week 2 teams will be picked like this: The woman in last place will be placed with the man in 1st, 3rd place woman with 2nd place man, 2nd place woman with 3rd place man, 1st place woman with 4th place man. For the remaining men whoever is in last place will be able to pick his partner (or Cali) and work the way up until everyone is on a team.
• There is no limit to how many times you can be teamed up with someone.
• 1-4 players for the week and we’ll play singles, 5+ players and we’ll play doubles.
• Both team members must throw from the same lie.
• If you are playing Cali, you get one extra throw per hole and they don’t carry over.
• If your teammate cannot finish the round then you may play Cali for the remaining holes.
• You must play at least half of the holes to get points for the day.
• We will play 8-10 weeks but only your top 8 scores will count.
• Cost is $15 for your first week and $5 for every week after.
• Ace pool is $2 per week. If you’re a regular of the league then you win 80% of the pot. If you’re new then you win 50% of the pot. Showing up at least 5 times will be considered a regular. The remaining money stays in the pot for the next ace hit.
• If you hit an ace you also get an ace pin. If you lose your pin you can buy a new one for $6.
• All members will get a shirt, towel, and mini their first week until we run out. If you received a shirt last season then you will not get one again this year unless you pay an extra $15. We have 4 more shirts left. Once the shirts are out, all new members will receive a mini their first week. You can buy another mini for $3.
• Each week there will be 4 birdie holes. If you can get birdies on 3 of the 4 birdie holes for that week you will get 3 bonus points.
• For example: Lakeshore the 4 birdie holes could be holes 1, 4, 15, and 17 or 4, 13, 15, & 18. They won’t necessarily be the 4 shortest holes each week.
• If you can get 3 birdies in a row, you will get 1 bonus point, 4 birdies in a row will give you 2 bonus points, 5 birds = 3 points, etc.
• One of the shortest holes each week will be the CTP hole. The man and woman who gets closest to the pin will receive 1 bonus point. Every other week the CTP winner will also win a disc or other disc golf related item.
• The longest hole each week will be the Longest Putt hole. The man and woman who gets the longest putt will receive 1 bonus point. If team members both hit the longest putt then they will both receive a bonus point.
• You can throw your disc back farther to try and hit the longest putt BUT each throw will count as a stroke. Example: Person A makes a putt from 30 feet for par. Person B is 25 feet away and decides to go for longest putt. Person B throws his 3rd shot out to 35 feet. Person B misses the 35 foot putt. Person B throws his disc out to 35 feet again and then makes the 35 foot putt for the longest putt. Person B would have 6 strokes on that hole.
• Once your disc is in the basket, you cannot try any further for longest putt.
• If you are Cali and miss your first shot for the longest putt and still have your extra shot for that hole then you may try again for longest putt.
• If you are Cali you cannot get 2 points if you make both your regular shot and extra shot from the longest putt.
• If you are Cali you can use your extra throw to try and get CTP.
• If you are Cali and throw your disc, you may use that disc again for your extra throw BUT you must then play from the second lie. For example: Cali is 50 feet out and throws his 3rd shot and lands a foot away from the basket. Cali still has an extra shot and feels they can make it if they throw again with the same disc. They pick up the thrown disc and throw again. This time their 3rd shot lands 20 feet away. They now must play from the 20 foot lie.
• Optional game each week called Quarters. Any tree, tree branch, or bush that you hit from your drive that changes the direction of your shot will cost a quarter. Before the last week starts you pay up all the quarters that you owe. On the last hole of the season or an agreed upon hole whoever has paid into quarters and gets the CTP will take home the entire amount of quarters. THIS IS OPTIONAL AND NOT REQUIRED.
• Whichever hole is used for the Quarters win, will be played based on standings. The highest will throw first down to the lowest. If you are Cali, only your first throw will count for the Quarters win but you may throw a second shot for your score.
• If we average 9 players a week then at the end of the season I will put everyone who has played at least 5 times into the running for a new practice basket. More than likely the MVP Practice basket. If you won it the previous season then you cannot win it the following season.
• Starting with the Spring season every time that you qualify for a basket raffle will give you 1 ticket. If you didn’t win the basket in the spring or summer but qualified for all 3 seasons then in the fall you will have 3 tickets in the drawing. If you win the basket then all of your tickets are wiped away.
• Example: Person A won last year, person B won in the spring, person C won in the summer, person D was qualified for each raffle, person E only qualified for the fall, Person F qualified for spring and fall but not summer. For the fall raffle: Person D would have 3 tickets, Person A & F would have 2 tickets, Persons B & E would have 1 ticket each. Person C would not be eligible for the fall raffle.
• WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMEONE QUALIFIES FOR SPRING AND SUMMER BUT NOT FALL? You don’t lose your tickets unless you win the basket. If someone qualified for the spring and summer but didn’t qualify for the fall then they would not be in the raffle for the fall. But if they became eligible again in the spring then they would still keep their previous 2 tickets as well as the new one for spring.
• The men and women’s winner will receive a trilogy disc of their choice with their name and champion on it for winning.
• Points are based on how many teams there are each week. If there are six teams then the scores will go from first to last 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. If there are 4 teams then it will be 4, 3, 2, 1, etc.
• If you hit a putt from 30 feet away you will get 1 bonus point.
• If you hit metal from the tee you will get 1 bonus point.
• Aces are rewarded bonus points as follows: 150 foot or less Ace = 5 points. 151-200 foot Ace = 10 points. 201-250 foot Ace = 15 points. 251 foot or more Ace = 20 points.
• The only OB is water. If both team members go in the water then their team takes a stroke and throws again.
