Week 10 Results!

26 total players came out to enjoy a pleasant evening before rushing to beat thunderstorms this past evening for the final week of the 1st session at Deer Lakes League. In a battle in the Open division which saw 25 birdies on the front 9 for the top 3 players, I came out on top shooting the hot white tee round of the year with a -14, 55. 26 total players came out to enjoy a pleasant evening before rushing to beat thunderstorms this past evening for the final week of the 1st session at Deer Lakes League. In a battle in the Open division which saw 25 birdies on the front 9 for the top 3 players, I came out on top shooting the hot white tee round of the year with a -14, 55. Elias Fochler won the Advanced division with a nice -9, 60 and Bryan Schultz snags his first Intermediate win with a -6, 63. Sam Fallon and Jeff Snyder ended up tying on the evening with the hot rounds in Recreational with +2, 71s.

Dan Horwat won the 2nd shot CTP on hole 6 for the Open/Adv. divisions for $12 and Jeff Coull won it for the other divisions for $11 which slightly surprisingly didn't see any eagles. No aces or birdie pot hits, so the ace pot surpasses $400 again and the birdie pot continues to grow past $100.

It looks like the rain is supposed to blow by today and we should be nice and dry for league this evening. Please be sure to sign up by 2pm, so I know who is coming.

Lots of pins have changed to shorter positions, so I am expecting some hot scores out there this week. Please pay attention to the PDGA scoring app which should have the correct pin locations. Also, hole 17A is now playing as a par 4 with the tee next to the road on the normal walk up to the old tees.

Week 9 Results

39 total players came out on a picture perfect evening to battle Deer Lake's white tees. Shooting the hot round on the day coming out of the Advanced division was Adam Couture with a -8, 60. Up next was J. Gary Dropcho winning Open with a -7, 61 and Jeff Coull shooting a -4, 64 to take down the win in Intermediate. There was a big battle in the Recreational division with four players within a stroke, but Pete Paredes and Clayton Homa came away with the win shooting +2, 70s. Savannah Fil ... more

39 total players came out on a picture perfect evening to battle Deer Lake's white tees. Shooting the hot round on the day coming out of the Advanced division was Adam Couture with a -8, 60. Up next was J. Gary Dropcho winning Open with a -7, 61 and Jeff Coull shooting a -4, 64 to take down the win in Intermediate. There was a big battle in the Recreational division with four players within a stroke, but Pete Paredes and Clayton Homa came away with the win shooting +2, 70s. Savannah Filander competed unopposed in the Recreation Women division, so she comes away with another win as well!

No aces or birdie pot hits today, so they both continue to grow. Chris Lachendro won the Open/Adv. CTP on hole 8 while Tim Sladisky won the Others CTP. They take home $11 and $25 respectively.

Week 7 Results!

The threat of rain couldn't keep 32 players from coming out league this past week. In the end, the rain held off and everyone was rewarded with a pleasant evening out at Deer Lakes.

Adam Couture won the Advanced division with a -6, 62 while both Jeff Coull and Bryan Schultz snagged their 3rd wins of year with Jeff shooting a -5, 63 to win the Intermediate division and Bryan shooting a -1, 67 to win the Recreational division. Molly Moore was once again unopposed un the Advanced Women division and Savannah Filander and Mary Ellen Moeller once again battled it out in Recreational Women with Savannah coming out on top this week.

There were no aces this week and the birdie pot survives another day as well. Dan Horwatt won the CTP for the Open/Advanced division on hole 17C for $8 while Tom Moeller snagged it for the other divisions for $20.

I do see the possibility of thunderstorms in the forecast, but it looks like it is going to be spotty, so we'll give this a go. As a reminder, we do play through rain, but if there is lightening near the course, the round will be ended immediately. Week 6 - WHITE Tees - Last Tee 5pm

In order to build a welcoming community, if you are heading out early and only have three people on a card and there are people waiting around in the parking lot for a card, please invite folks on. I understand that people like to play in their groups of friends, but I want to be able to allow as many people to play league as possible. If folks just end up waiting in the parking lot for an hour or two while groups of three head out to play, they are less likely to come to league again.

A rainy evening welcomed 27 players to the first white tee round of the year. Shooting the hot round on the day was Sam Hockenberry with a -6, 62 taking down the Open division. Gerald Haynes and Micah Beidman shot the next hot round with -3, 65s for both of them to take down the Advanced and Intermediate divisions. There were no aces and the birdie pot survived, so both of those go up after this week. Chris Lachendro won the CTP for the Open/Advanced divisions on hole 4 and snags an extra $9. Nobody put their name on the Others CTP, so I took the 10 people who pared the hole, put them in a random generator, ran it 4 times for hole 4, and Bryan Schultz was the lucky recipient of the CTP for an extra $12. In the future, if you have a bad drive on the CTP, don't put it way off out of the way. Just put it in the middle of the fairway, close to the distance that your drive landed so that other can move it when they beat it. Thanks!

Shooting the hot round on the day was a tie between Anson Reppermund in Open and Jeff Coull in Intermediate (!!!) with both players shooting -14, 54. Not to be outdone, Adam Couture took down Advanced with a -13, 55. In addition to his hot round, Jeff Coull also won the CTP on hole 2 for the Other division for an extra $25 and Chris Lachendro took down the CTP for Open/Advanced for $11.

Jeff Coull wasn't done raking in the cash though as he birdied holes 8, 9, 10, and 17C to grab even more dough winning the birdie pot. But wait, there were two others in Intermediate who also birdied the required holes as Jesse Kummer and Justin Morelli also birdied the required holes. The three of them will split $165.

We're not done handing out money though as Adam Couture snagged an ace off of a tree on hole 5. For his skillful shot, Adam grabs an extra $174! Congratulations to all on an eventful evening!

Shooting the hot round from the open field coming in just shy of a 1000 rated round was Dan Horwat with a -16, 52. A grand total of 44 players showed up for week two to take on the red tees at Deer Lakes. Shooting the hot round from the open field coming in just shy of a 1000 rated round was Dan Horwat with a -16, 52. Elias Fochler won the Advanced division with a -12, 56 and Micah Beidman took down Intermediate with a -10, 58. No aces were hit on the day so the ace pot grows up to $379. One person did hit the birdie put, but, the decided it wasn't worth the dollar to get in, so the pot doesn't get paid out and instead grows to $120. Joe Hags won the CTP for the Open and Advanced divisions for an additional $13 and Sue Guiciardi won the CTP for all other divisions for an additional $29.

Shooting the hot round on the day was a tie between Anson Reppermund who took down the Open division and Cam Weber who took down the Advanced division with -14, 54s. Jesse Kummer wasn't too far behind taking down the Intermediate division with a -12, 56. Molly Moore competed unopposed in the Advanced Women division and shot a -9, 59, while Bryan Schultz dominated the Recreational division shooting a -8, 60. It was a heated battle in the Recreational Women's division as Mary Ellen Moeller just barely eked out Christine Sines by one stroke. Congratulations to all on the hot shooting the first week.

Winning the CTP on hole 17 was Pat Sylves for the Open/Adv. division for $9 and Jesse Kummer for the Other divisions for $16.

Quite possibly the best player ever to play at Deer Lakes, Jed Farber (his words, not mine. Slightly paraphrased...) hit the first ace of the year on Hole #4 with a zone to snag an extra $225 for his efforts. The ace pot now sits at $337. The birdie pot stayed intact and is now up to $83. Change of plans

Sorry for the change of plans, but the combined hole 17B and 17C will not be played. Instead, after hole 17A, we will play 17B and 17C as normal and will play a 19 hole, par 68 layout.

A reminder that you MUST keep score using the PDGA scoring website, pdga.com/score. The access code for the league is Deer2022 (I don't think it is cap sensitive).

The weather is looking like it is going to be pretty nice out for the first week minus the surefire mud due to melting snow. Can't wait to see everyone and get rid of this big ace pot!

It's finally here! Week one of Deer Lakes League! Starting a little earlier this year, so you better be ready for some colder weather and less daylight. To kick things off, we will be playing from the RED tees. This will help facilitate getting people through the course without running out of daylight. Oh, and holes 15 and 16 will be closed. After hole 14, you will walk to hole 17, then play 17A and a combined 17B/C (Par 4). BJ promises that it will be nice and everyone will enjoy it.

League Renewed for 2022!

The official page for the 2022 Deer Lakes League season is up and running. First league day is less than two months away so you better be ready to go!

Two changes for this coming year:
1) I felt like the year ended a little early last year, so this year we are going to try to run this over 30 weeks instead of 20 weeks like we had done in the past. That means that league kicked off early this year starting on March 14th!
2) The CTP will now be split into two separate pools. There will be ... more

2) The CTP will now be split into two separate pools. There will be one CTP for the Open and Advanced division and then a second CTP for all other divisions on the same hole. I was finding that Open and Advanced were often winning the CTP and it was a larger payout that winning your division which I wasn't a fan of. Hopefully this works out better.
