About this league

A 16 week league with three sessions. Session one and session two will be five weeks and session three will be six weeks. Their will be winners for each session and overall winners for the entire 16 week league.

Weekly Saturday at 12pm league. All levels encouraged to join us.
All rounds will be posted on here and our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/UNYDoG/

There is no fee to join. Pay only the rounds you play. Newcomers will play for free their first week.

It will be $5 each session with $1 going to Ace Pot, $1 going to the Club/CTP, and $3 goes to prizes and payouts at the end of the season. Half of the $3 goes to session winners and half goes to end of season payouts and prizes. Think of it as a super cheap weekly tournament with an emphasis on fun and getting us outside in the Winter months.

The Season will be 16 weeks long and will end with a Tournament March 27.

Session one and two winners will be decided by the best 3 scores each player achieves during those sessions. Session three will be decided by the best four rounds from each player.

Each player gets two points for showing up to a round

Rules for Session Two

Players play within their division and compete against players of their own skill level.

Because it is divisional and we can't gain as many points as the Session One rounds, we are designating a point value to each place. For example, (everyone gets 2 points for showing up). First place in each division gets 15 points plus 1 point for each person they beat in their division and so on. More specifically

1st gets 15 points + 1 point per opponent beat
2nd gets 14 points + 1 point per opponent beat
3rd gets 13 points + 1 point per opponent beat
4th gets 12 points + 1 point per opponent beat
5th gets 10 points + 1 point per opponent beat
6th and higher gets 8 points + 1 point per opponent beat

This makes session 2 points viable for the best 7 scores for the overall winners. Each player gets a half point for each tie. The top scores for the five weeks of session one were 22, 21, 19, 18, and17.

If all 7 players show up for each of the divisions, which is less likely in the colder months, the max points first place will receive is 15 points for the win, 2 points for showing, and 6 points for the 6 opponents they beat for a total of 23 points. Second place would leave with 21 points for the day, third would leave with 19 points, etc..

Last place in any division will be calculated two placements lower, for example; Rec division only has one player so they automatically win first place. Their calculated total would move down two and be calculated as the third place point value. So 13 points + two for showing up for a total of 15 points for the day. One more example is, there are 3 players in the division for the day. First leaves with 19 points, 2nd leaves with 17, and third would normally leave with at least 15 points but because they are last in the division they will be calculated as fifth place so they leave the day with 10 points + 2 for showing up for a total of 12 points for the day.

This being a fun first league I think this is a great way to do session 2 as it gives everyone a chance to compete against players of their own skill level and all players are able to compete on the overall standings.
Let me know any thoughts you may have but please keep in mind a lot of thought went into this scoring method and I tried many different ways till deciding this was the best and most fair for as many players as possible.

Ultimately we just want everyone coming out and having fun and playing together. Each players tee placement will be decided by league staff as we want it to be as fair as possible.

Any new players will play for free the first time they come out so they can see how much fun we have.

We really appreciate all the support we have received this year and we will be doing some fun things throughout the winter season to spice it up. Happy Holidays everyone and we hope to see you out on the course.
