Congratulations to Jay for winning the Summer league! He wins our second berth to States!

We had 6 new players out today for our highest weekly total of 18 players. Thanks for coming everyone! Geoff & Taggart destroyed the course today with a score of 55 and split $40. The two Johns took home 2nd with a score of 59 and split $20. Ben D and Kerns filled out the top 3 with a score of 60 to split $12.

Merch CTP was hit by John Mac, Cash CTP of $27 was hit by John N, Jake P hit the longest putt. Lots of long putts especially Brian's of 100+ feet on 16 for a Bird! No metal hits leaving the Ace pool at $644 going into the Fall season.

I hope to see everyone back again September 8th at Spindler Park.

Also going forward if we get 3 or more women each week then the women will be teamed together and will only play against the women. So if 3 women show up we can do a doubles vs a cali or we can do all singles with a handicap for them. If 4 or more show up then they can do doubles and play on their own card and I'll keep a separate division for them as well.

The Birdie Bonus holes will be 10, 11, 12, & 13. Hole 12 will count as a birdie if you can get a 3 on it. CTP for cash will be Hole 13. Longest Putt will be Hole 14. CTP for Merch which is a Glo Buzzz GT is Hole 18.

We'll be playing OBs in effect. OBs will be:
Hole 1&2: Over the Fence.
Hole 2: The Sandtrap right of the basket.
Hole 4, 5, 6: Going over the rock wall.

Had a great round, even though the sun was killing us. Ben P & Nick had the hot round (& tied the league course record) of 44. We had a 3 way tie with a score of 45 and had a throw off. Jay & Mike K won the throw off to take 2nd, with Cam and Matt Neal taking 3rd. Every team finished under Par so great job there!

Cam took home Cash CTP ($22). Nate took home the Thrasher. And Cam also took home the longest putt with a 45-50 footer on hole 4. Some close calls on that ace money but it's still intact going to Lakeshore next week.

CTP for Merch (Discraft Thrasher) and point will be hole 8. CTP for Cash will be hole 2. Longest Putt for point will be hole 4. You have both rounds to try and win them.

Birdie Bonus holes will be 1 & 9 both rounds. So 1, 9, 10, & 18.

We're also playing the Ace Race that morning at 8 am. We have 13 in our group right now so if anyone else wants to join us, do it soon. The plan is tee of at 9. Finish before noon. Get lunch. Meet at Freedom at 1:30. Play at 2. Finish at 4. Go back to Water Works for awards or do what you want.

Ben P & Brian both have berths to states so if either of them win the Summer season then the berth will go to the next highest position.

We had our largest turnout of the year with 17 players (5 new this season). It was a wonderful day of disc golfing and we had a 3 way tie for 1st. So they started at hole 1 longs, with Timmy and Phipps being eliminated after hole 1 splitting $8. The remaining teams went to hole 2 where Chris K & Randy took home 1st and split $40, leaving Nick and Bill K to 2nd place and splitting $18.

Kerns also took home cash CTP of $24. Mikal took home the McPro Aviar with a park job just about touching the pole. Jay took home longest putt on hole 3. Only 2 teams hit the birdie bonus holes and there were a lot of 3 in a rows and long putts.

Next week we head to Freedom in Canton after the ace race.

We are heading to Founders this week in Farmington Hills. A fun but technical course. We’ll be playing 1 round from the Long tees and 1 round from the Short tees beginning with the long tees first. CTP for the bonus point and the McPro Aviar will be hole 1, you’ll have both rounds to try and get it. CTP for cash will be hole 9 and you’ll have both rounds to hit it. The longest putt will be hole 3 and you’ll have both rounds to hit it, but Beware as there is a drop off and water about 5 feet behind the basket. Birdie Bonus holes will be Long 1, Short 2, Short 5, and Short 8; they’ll be on the scorecard as 1, 11, 14, & 17.

We had a lovely time at Cass Benton with 11 players (and 3 new players). The rain stayed away for the most part with just some small sprinkles here and there. There were a few ace runs with another Metal hit by Cam. Longest Putt was a huge 45 foot + by Ben D. New player Mikal took home the $16 for Cash CTP and Brett took home the Merch CTP.

Jay & Brian had the hot round of 44 splitting $32 with Ben P & Phipps taking home 2nd splitting $12.

Going to Founders next week to play 18, 9 from the short and 9 from the longs.

For August 4th we're going to keep league at meet at 1:30 throw at 2 pm. I think we'll be done with the Ace race by noon, everyone can go eat and get their bags and then make it to Freedom by tee off. We should be finished at Freedom no later than 4:30 giving anybody who may win something at the Ace Race plenty of time to run back to Water Works for the awards at 5 pm.

Nick and Joe won the day with a 41 splitting 40. Jay and Chris came in 2nd with a 42. Bill K and Tim made a run of it with 9 straight birdies to come in 3rd at 43.

10 of us played through all of this heat and only 5 strokes separated 1st to 5th. Cam/Joe N tied Ben D/Erin with scores of 52. They had a throw off to the practice basket and Cam/Joe N came out with the win. Joey won both of the CTPs taking home the Stego and $15. Cam hit the longest putt. No birdie bonuses but a couple 3 in a row.

We're off next week so people can go to the DGLO if they want and back on July 14th at Bandemer.

This week we are at Independence Lake. We'll be playing this layout: 1, 2, X1-X12, 3, 13-15 for 18 holes. X3 will be CTP for Merch and Bonus Point. Merch this week is a Reptilian Stego. CTP for cash will be hole 14. Longest Putt will be hole X7. Birdie Bonus holes will be X1, X5, X12, & 13.

We have not played this layout yet so no course record to break but one to set (no bonus point for setting the first though).

I'm also thinking of switching out Willow for Cass Benton later in the season. Any objections or pros for switching?

We had 5 new players today for a total of 14 to play Rolling Hills. We had a tie for first with Ben/Cam and BJ/Jay each shooting 47 (-7) so another playoff to determine the winner. They started on 1 and finished on 4. Birdie, Par, Birdie and then on hole 4 Ben/Cam hit a Bird to end the playoff and win the week and split $38.

Cam took home the Nuke and Jay took home the Cash CTP of $19. Bill K hit the longest putt. Only 1 Birdie Bonus and lots of 30 foot putts and Birds in a Row. Cam hit metal on hole 12 and was oh so close to that ace.

What a Great turnout! 17 players showed up to MBD today. We started in sun and finished in sun with a little bit of rain in the middle. Ben P & Shawn had the hot round of 41 to take home first place and split $38. We had a 4 way tie for 2nd at 43 and after a throw off, Ben D & Jake split $20 for 2nd and then Brian & Randy split $8 for 3rd.

Ben D took home the Banger GT with his park job on 3. Mike V hit the longest putt on 17 and Shawn took home $25 for the CTP on 14. There was one metal hit by Brian and lots of Birds in a Row bonuses.

We are going to Mary Beth Doyle this weekend to start Week 1 of the Summer season. We'll be playing 1-18 shorts and OB is On or Over any cart paths or parking lot.

The CTP for Merch (which is a Jawbreaker Glow Banger GT) will be Hole 3. The CTP for cash will be Hole 14. Longest Putt will be Hole 17. Birdie Bonus holes will be 4, 5, 10, & 17.
