About this league

This will be the Elberton Disc Golf Clubs inaugural Bag Tag Challenge. We are hoping to instill a fun competitive atmosphere while also helping the club to raise money for course improvements at McWilliams.

Bag Tag Challenge Rules
Conduct
1. Everyone is on their honor to conduct themselves according to the rules and within the spirit of competition. Have fun. It's only a tag. The purpose of the Bag Tag Challenge is to encourage friendly competition among Elberton Disc Golf Club members.
2. In order for the Bag Tag Challenge to work, all challenges must be accepted.
3. Each player must have their Bag Tag at all times. Bag Tags must be plainly visible and can not be hidden.
4. Challenges are to be made by choosing times and courses that are reasonable.
5. Friendly side wagers of any kind can be made at the discretion of the participants, but are NOT required.

Challenges
1. Challenges will run from February 5, 2017 through October 31, 2017.
2. The higher Bag Tag challenges the lower Bag Tag. Challenges can be by phone, computer, or in person. It is preferred to use the Elberton Disc Golf Club page on Facebook tagging Jared Dye and, or Chris Saxon in the post, then following up by posting the results of the challenge in the comments of that post, making tag tracking easier. There will also be a league page on discgolfscene.com where you may update the results.
3. The challenged player must give the challenger two (2) times to meet in the next week or they must forfeit the tag. If the challenger can not meet that timeline, the challenge is void. Not showing up for a match results in a forfeit. (20 minute leeway)
A. One of the two days must be on Saturday, or Sunday
B. During July the time frame will be four (4) times to meet in the next two (2) weeks, due to the high influx of vacation time taken during July.
4. The challenged player picks the course, tees and format. Format choices include: stroke play or match play but no Glow, doubles/triples etc. of any kind. PDGA rules apply. If the challenger wins the round, the tags are exchanged.
A. Rules for challenge will always be to play the course “As Is”.
B. If a course has multiple rules layouts you may choose which one you play.
1. Example: McWilliams ball fields and road will always be O.B. and Mandos are always in play; however, as the challenged you may choose the tournament layout which will bring the island on hole 2 and the walking path on holes 10, 11, 12, 13, & 18 into play.
C. Large groups may play together in two ways:
1. Free for all stroke play; all tags will be in play and awarded out lowest to highest per round score with ties being broken by the player that held the lower tag at the start of the round.
2. Multiple one vs. one challenges
5. Ties are won by the holder of the lower bag tag at the beginning of the round. However, if ALL players agree before the round starts; a play-off hole(s) can be used as a tie-breaker using sudden death rules.
6. You don't have to play back-to-back challenge rounds against the same player or in a multi-player match with the exact same opponents. A player can't challenge you, lose to you, and immediately challenge you again for another round. However, if ALL parties agree, consecutive round challenges are allowed. Challenges MUST be verbally agreed upon at the beginning of EACH round.
7. Incomplete round: If a player does not complete a bag tag challenge round, the exiting player should trade tags with the player with the highest tag number. If play is stopped by all players before the round is complete, no tags are exchanged. This could be due to hazardous weather, physical emergency or mutual agreement.
8. Multiple people at the same course at the same time can have a group challenge with 6 or less playing in the group. If more than 6 are present the group should split into cards of at least 3 and play proceeds as if it were a tournament.
9. There will be a monthly league round where all tags will be in play. If you have a top 10 Tag you are expected to to play; however, if you can't you are required to exchange your Tag with someone outside the top 10, or return it to the club and then you will be re-issued the lowest unclaimed tag.
A. If multiple top 10 can't play then the new tags will be issued from lowest to highest per your previous tag. This is not a punishment but just a way to assure everyone has a shot at the top tags at least once a month. You will have a minimum of three weeks to plan for the league round.
