Just a quick berth update. The DGLA Point Series berths were finally determined as we were trying to verify the recipients do not already have a berth and the feedback is in. So now Pat received his berth through DGLA which means one of the Ypsi Dubs winter berths gets to be passed on. Danny still has his and now Rooster Rob Dehaan has his as well. Congrats guys. Good luck getting your berth packages from me - I mean remind me and I get you your berth packages at ~={CHURCH}=~.

Hope to see everyone this Sunday to test drive the additional Letter holes and get some feedback. Looks like we have 3 pop-ups and two Yellow tops confirmed so far. If anyone has a Pop-up that would help a lot to make it easier to getting them out to the holes.

I'll be posting some temp signs this Saturday to help with navigation and post a map in the Ypsi Dubs Spring Fling league picture gallery.

Wow Can 2 points make a difference in a season????

Well the Ypsi Dubs 2016/17 Winter League -={Church}=- has come to a close and Chilly has posted the last round and yes after a possible 12 rounds with best 10 rounds counting it came down to 2 points deciding 1st from 2nd.

With 65 players this season compared to 85 last season. I guess the weather was just to nice this year people had other things to do....

Well lets first look back at last winter:

What Danny and Pat at the top pf the leaderboard battling it out for first place. So this is nothing new. Last year Danny beat Pat out by 25 pts and this year Pat beat Danny out by 2 points. Some heavy competition and neither of these two like to give up any points. Now this isn't singles so Luck of the Draw Doubles is a fun yet competitive way to enjoy leagues yet it has extra variables like any given round you could have me as a handicap ;-) - oh we will have fun ;-) but maybe not the course record, although you never know what could happen. So yeah partners from beginner to Pro. But as competitive as these guys are they are true ambassadors to the sport and make every round enjoyable for new and old. Keeping it fun, up beat no matter how many trees try to get in the way and pass along some tips and tricks along the way, all with a smile and making it an enjoyable round. Thanks Guys - another great season.

So Danny took home $20 extra bucks, $270 for the season and got his name on the Ypsi Dubs Plague in the lodge once again.

Pat Burke Took $250 for the season, got his name on the Ypsi Dubs Plague in the lodge and his name will be etched on the Ypsi Dubs Holy Grail that hopefully all of us can sample some holy water out of at the kick off of the Summer season if he'll share ;-)

Congrats Pat Burke our Ypsi Dubs 2016/17 Winter League -={Church}=- CHAMPION.

Oh did I mention they both secured their Berths to the The Discraft Michigan State Championships, Sat-Sun, September 2-3, 2017 at Mason County Park in Ludington, Michigan
B-tier · PDGA sanctioned singles tournament. Yes this all expense paid (by you) trip to the biggest Disc Golf party and competition in the State and normally the largest B - tier in the world and Ypsi Dubs picked up the Berth cost for yeah ;-) I have your berth packages for yeah. Enjoy your new mini Buzzz and commemorative disc.

Also Congrats to the Rooster. in third place with 170 points Robert Dehaan secures his name on the Ypsi Dubs plague in the lodge as well. Nicely done Rob.

Four more berths up for grabs this Summer.

Ok who else challenged the Michigan Winter conditions and not only survived but racked up some amazing points to be listed in the top ten?

Ok another good example of the how points rack up. Tied at 9th place with 92 points Foz and Frame-O. Foz amassed an amazing 92 points in 10 rounds where Frame-O did it in only 6. But I won the Ypsi Dubs tie breaker given I had 4 extra rounds of Fun with friends ;-) where Frame-O I'm sure was off playing tournaments or someplace those other weeks ;-) Again you don't have to play every week, you don't have to win every time to make the top of the leaderboard but the more you play the more fun you have ;-)

Ok hope to see everyone out for some more great Spring weather golf before we get swarmed by all the casuals and mosquitoes.

Ypsi Dubs 2017 Spring Warm-Up -={Church}=- Sundays
2/26/2017 - 4/2/2017

Come out and help clear the new holes so we can have more holes to play and can disburse the players over the summer. Saturdays from 11-3 and Tuesdays from 4:30 - 6:30.
We are about to mark initial tee pads and basket placements on the 6 letter holes near the pond. Come check them out or help put them in and be able to say "I help create these holes" for years to come. Twelve more holes, for a total of 18 new holes, will go in on the north side of the existing holes (1,2,4, & 5) with space for an additional 6 later. We also have a plan to start the Putt Putt course with the 6 temp baskets Rolling has which will not be needed once the extra holes are in. Come make your mark on the future of Rolling Hills Disc Golf, every bit helps make this a reality.
Park's plan is 18 baskets this year and tee pads next year (2018) for Indy and Rolling Hills.

Also a big thanks to Stan for taking on Registration and Chilly for posting the rounds - it's a big help and much appreciated by all. Thanks to Ron, Skip, Cody, Danny, Zack, Mag1c Mike and many others who help out in many ways from Pre-round CTPs, and some course maintenance from time to time. Also everyone who picks up trash or just throws thiers in the cans - THANKS!!!

I'm also excited to see the attention the course is getting from the new Rolling Hills staff. Scott Linn took over recently as head maintenance and I think the recent wood chips is the best this course has ever been covered and boy did it need it with the thaw and resulting mud we had everywhere. They have been on top of all the fallen trees as well and trying to get rid of the water at the path on Hole 6. Brian Machemer <[email redacted]> who has been the park superintendent at Independence Lake Park is now also the superintendent at Rolling Hills and has made these improvements and the new Holes a reality. If you see them on the course or have a chance to provide some positive feedback it will help continue this welcomed attention to the course.

Also a big shout out to Scott Sprow who has taken the Glow at Rolling Hills and kept it alive with two Glow rounds each year which are amazing. Thanks to Scott and the crew at Washentaw Glow.

Well again congrats to everyone who played this season. Great to see so many new players and we look forward to seeing some more Ypsi Dubs family members who have been away, out on the course soon. The summer rounds bring everyone out so get ready for a big family reunion and some great Disc Golf in the Hills.

On the last Sunday of dgla winter league it seemed to be late March. Twenty six players attended mass and per church rules in lieu of a 6 some we have two cali's.
Rob D and S. Sprow shot a great round on long tees at -10 to take the win.
Greg H and Brett L shot a nice round taking 2nd with a -7.
There was a tied at -6 for the last two cashing spots where Fifer and Greg M taking 3rd while Geoff B and Rob C placed 4th.
CTPS went to Felicia Tressure chest, Sprow 50/50, & Chilly 100%.

We do continue to play Sundays year round.

Wow coming down to the wire - last week of the winter season. Pat Burke just passed Danny Fifer who has been in number one for many a week now and has more than a few Ypsi Dubs league titles to his name.

One last round - This Sunday is our last -={Church}=- until the following Sunday as we never stop but it's the last round of the Winter league. Tuesdays start up about April once the park is open long enough....

So week 12 this Sunday with the best 10 rounds counting - Who will end up on top, of the leaderboard:

Pat has 10 rounds recorded so far, with 6 wins and his lowest point total of 12 - so he could potentially improve his current total of 184 pts by a few more points given our current numbers of players, a 22 pt week is usually max. No Aces yet for Pat......

Danny has 11 rounds recorded so far, for 172 Pts, with 4 wins and his lowest two point totals of 10 & 12 (since he will most likely get all 12 rounds in two will drop) and no Aces for Danny yet either....

An Ace or two could really shake things up between these two......

Glow tomorrow night is on at Rolling Hills....start time is 7:30. We need to be done by 10:30 as they made special accommodations and the park rangers are coming in especially for us. Gate will be staffed and you should expect them to charge entry (unless you have a park pass already). My understanding they are going to have the gate staffed at 6:30

We are going to use 1-6, 17, 18 and the practice basket for our setup. I know that several of you wanted the whole course experience. We will have to go with this layout on Wednesday. We will setup a tee pad along the road for the practice basket (nothing real crazy long, probably 250-300 feet) Hoping we can play long & short pads so please come prepared for that as an option.

Registration will take place in the lodge. There is counter space on the left as you walk in.

It was a super day at Indy today. A few inches of snow on the turf and a brisk wind across the field. We had 20 players come out for the round of 24. A couple guys got low for the win at -16, Fifer and Ciccerelli. Then a tie at -14 rounded out the cash between Burke/Common & Matthews/Wheeling.

Burke (cali) and CCook/NickH both posted a -14 with PB winning in the shoot off. Then rounding out the cash there was a 4 way tie for 3rd and 4th places at -12. Stan and Rooster edged out the compitition by inches for 3rd and Foz and Chilly slid in for 4th.

Yes we are headed to Indy to check out the new holes. Format to be determined but will include the new holes. The others can be based on weather.

I know Rob Dehaan had some ideas of options based on weather and Danny sent me this proposal: We can can do hole 1 , 2 then new extras x1-x12 then 3 ,13-18

Key thing is to show up at Indy this Sunday not Rolling and we will have a blast on the new Holes and then come back to Rolling and work on our new Holes........

The Extra 6 holes near the pond are coming along. Most have been OK by the Park and I'm trying to get the last two committed to but I have been clearing them and you can get a good feel for them. Most are playable and need to finalize tee pad locations and come up with totem poles/targets for use for the next few months. Baskets for 18 could go in this year and tee pads at the same time as Indy is the plan Brian is working on.

Oh - I'll post last Sunday later tonight in case your worried about Points or bragging rights

Just a reminder that our disc exchange is coming up this Sunday at Waterworks in Ypsi. It sounds like we may get raided by an unnamed local club so even though the "tourney" page isn't full there is gonna be a pretty good turn out (I hope). It's gonna be a fun day so get out here and ring in the new year with some CHAAAAAA!!!

January 1st 2017 is our Disc Exchange at Waterworks!! There is a Tourney page set up for it if you need details.

Jan 1st round is also cancelled - Join our Pirate brothers and sisters and swap some discs while getting MiCPS Points.

This will be held at the wonderful WATER WORKS PARK in Ypsilanti Michigan. Reg will be from 9:00am till 9:45am and we will tee off shortly after 10:00am. We will play 2 rounds of 9 holes most likely from the white & red tees.

It is really quite simple, just bring a wrapped disc/s valued around $15 - $20. Please bring either newer or slightly used discs. We will play our normal league round which is also happens to be our monthly $5 Freddy round. At the conclusion of the round the winners will get first crack at the "gifts" that everyone brought (provided they brought one too!) 2nd place will go next, then 3rd and so on until everyone who brought a "gift" receives one. I can tell you in years past there has been some pretty good discs in those packages! It's a really good time so I urge everyone to come out (if you are not too hung over!)

If you plan on joining, feel free to comment and I will add you to the list. The round will be $15 ( $5 round, $5 ace pool, $5 CTP's) If no one hits an ace we will throw off for the pool at the end!

We want to try and have CTP's on every hole (9 total). Any donations would be wonderful but not expected. I myself will be adding a few items on top of what our club will provide. Let me know if you choose to so I can give you props when the time comes!

This is a league round, not an actual tournament. Since is more of an event/league round I thought this would be a good way to get a little more exposure. Make sure you tell a friend!! Hope to see a lot of people, CHAAAAAA!!!

OK our next round is scheduled for Dec 25th - Merry Christmas

Yesterday we had 10 players and many said they would not be able to a play next Sunday due to Santa stopping by on his World Wide Disc Golf tour.

If anyone wants to play this regularly scheduled round please post in the comments section by Wednesday. There needs to be three players (one playing Cali) to make it an official round. Otherwise on Wednesday I will cancel this round. We want to ensure everyone knows if the round is a go or no go so they can plan accordingly.

I (Foz) will unfortunately miss the next two -={Church}=- rounds. Jan 1st maybe a slow hazzy hangover round but it should still take place. Thanks Chilly, Stan, Skip & Cody and all those who help out.

Again - If you plan on playing the regularly scheduled -={Church}=- Christmas round Dec 25th post in the comments section so we know if this should be cancelled or not. Bah Humbug

17 players brave the on set of winter as the cold sets in. Ben C and Rooster Rob took donw the win at -14 follow closely by Fifer and Weeling at -13 then Pizi and Burke at -12.

Fifer & Chilly had the low score of the day at -9 with Chilly's ace on hole 8. Just two strokes back at -7 was a four way tie for second including Burke & Stan, JB & Kerns, JubJub & Rooster Rob, and Cicerelli cali. JB & CK took shoot off for 2nd with JJ & RR taking 3rd.

A chilly kickoff it was, with bone chilling wind bring temps to teens deg F. We had 22 players braved the cold and gusty conditions.
Big thanks to our hosts the Calhoun's that course was in championship condition.
We had three entrants with chili, those being Foz, Tim G. , and Chilly. All of which made great batches. Thanks guys!!
Now down to business, Danny Fifer and Chilly took the win with a -7 followed by Tim G & Cody V -4 in 2nd, B Calhoun & Cassdy M -3 in 3rd, rooster Rob & Steve -2 taking the 4th and final cash.
The CTP went to Fifer 100%, Sheldon 50%, Rooster & Chilly Treasure chest.

Better if you get Two rounds in, in one Day and what better place to kick off the Winter season than heading out to BRATs. Check out the new holes. Bring some lunch and hang out for the day. Play Two leagues with brothers and sisters from three leagues and get more points and mega fun and hugs.
