The round we played for the League Party has been posted to the Leaderboard. I did not include points, only putts made, so that the Final Standings would not be impacted. But the top 5 from this mini round were the 5 who cashed, with Mel in 1st, Greasy in 2nd, Larry in 3rd, Dan in 4th, and Mickey in 5th.

Thanks to all 40 people who came out this year to support our first Indoor Putting League. From what I can say, it was a huge success!! A big thanks also goes to our host, Harry's Hofbrau, and we have been invited back next year to get it going once again!! Tentative start for the next wave of fun is November. And please don't be a stranger to the venue in the off months. Be sure to stop back and enjoy that food and beer all summer long!!

All who participated in the league are invited!! There will be a spread of food on hand using the League Party Fund, with alcohol being the responsibility of any who choose to partake. We will be awarding the League Championship and Top 3 payouts this night. There will also be 1 round play with a $5 buy-in, with a round one format of 3 putts per station . Payouts for this will be 30% to first, 25% to second, $20 to third, 15% to fourth, and $10 to fifth. I'm also suggesting a League Swap Meet, so bring any plastic you have for sale or trade.

And don't forget about the After Party at the Petticoat if you feel so inclined ;)

This week the basket was impeded with a 3' X 3" cardboard square with a 12" X 12" hole in the center that would give double points if making it through the square and into the basket. Cardboard was also placed on each side of the basket to make it tough for those putts to stick. A wrinkle was also used at each of the first 3 stations for all rounds to make it that much more difficult. This was our last Final Monday, so I had to make it interesting :) The lowest scores of the season were the result.

I forgot to grab the piece of paper with the format for each station per round, but we had the following on hand: kneeling putt, forehand putt, seated putt, blindfolded putt, "mini" putt, driver putt, oven-mitt putt, frisbee putt, and off-hand putt.

It has been suggested for next week's Final Monday of January to use two tables placed in front of the basket for a skip shot as a multiplier. We will try this during warm-ups, and if it seems okay, we will go with that. If not, the hula hoop will be used. For round 2, all shots with have a hazard or wrinkle, and I am considering the following: Station 1 -- off-hand putt, Station 2 -- basket placed in front of tables for added hazard (-1 in alternate basket), Station 3 -- kneeling putt, Station 4 -- no chains putt (if it is possible). For Round 3, I'm still considering something, just not sure what.

Any other suggestions will be considered. Let me know if you have any ideas!!

First week results have been posted! Please keep in mind the Leaderboard will be used to manage the Overall League Championship standings, and it shows how many points were amassed based on players beaten during each session. Weekly results will be posted in the news (similar to the post one here) and the points distributed are based on that week and the players present. For example, with 20 players, the first place winner gets 20 points, with one for themselves and one for everybody they beat. In case of a tie, you are not given extra points for ties, but only those you had more points during that session. Ties for the top three spots will be given points based on the finish, like this week after Bill and Dan had a shootout to decide 3rd. If you have any questions, let me know.

There will be a few format changes to next weeks session, on behalf of the group yesterday and there suggestions. Details are below:
We will now play a 3 round format, as there was ample time for another round.

Round 1: Same as this week with 4 stations and 3 putts per stations. The only change for round 1 will be the 2 farthest away shots will be worth 2 points, with the first two remaining at 1 shot. This will increase the possible points for Round 1 to 18.

Round 2: We will add a wrinkle to some or all shots for this, similar to what we did last week. The off-hand putt and the seated putt were great ideas, and will most likely be used again in some capacity. I'm gonna come up with some other ideas for this, but we will try to make all shots, even the farther ones, something interesting. There will still be 2 shots per station for this round, just like last week. Points for this will be 2 points from the first 2 stations and 3 from the further two, with a total possible points of 20 for the round. In the instance we do not use anything funky for the further shots, they will also be scored as two points.

Round 3: There will be 1 shot per station (at least for the first week), and I will have a mando or obstacle for this round, and points will be double for each shot, with the first 2 shots being 2 points each and the further two being 4 points each. This will have 12 possible points, with a session total of 50 for all putts being made.

If anybody has any other ideas or suggestions, please be sure to pass them along. This is a group effort, and any ideas would be appreciated.

Kevin McCollum has also offered to be my backup in the instance I cannot make it. If anybody else would like to be a backup, please let me know so we can work on getting that arranged.

Please note the Ace Pool will be used to track the League Championship Fund. It will pay out to the top 3 at the end of the year with the following breakdown:
1st Place - 60%
2nd Place - 30%
3rd Place - 10%

$35 will be taken from this fund if possible to make a Trophy Disc using the infamous Osborne Hole 4 pics for the League Champion. I am considering having extras made if anybody is interested, and will let them know once I am getting ready to make the order. Only 1 will say League Champion, but all will have the Icy #4 pic made using Dynamic Discs DyeMax, which is a picture-quality image put on a disc.

Please keep in mind League Points are set so that you get one point for playing and one point for everybody you beat. In the case of a tie, you do not get a point from those players. Bill got the extra point for winning the shootout. All other ties will have the same score for League Points. This will tally the entire season and will now payout 3 spots, with a 60% for first, 30% for second, and 10% for third at the end of the year. The party starts tomorrow!! 6:30 League start time. You can be there by 7:00 to guarantee both rounds, as there will be 2 separate rounds played. Round 2 will include a points multiplier, with an added hazard or trick to the shot.

Tentative Format:
Round 1 -- There will be four putting stations of varying distances. Each player will get three shots from each distance, with each make counting for 1 point. This will have 12 total points available for the first round.
Round 2 -- The same stations will most likely be used, but the basket may be heightened or lowered or have an obstacle or mando to play. Each make will count for 2 points, with two shots taken per station. This will have a total of 16 points available for this round. Max weekly points will be 28 points. In case of a tie, a putt off will occur from the farthest station until somebody misses. Winner will get an extra point if this occurs, which could give somebody 29 points in case every shot is made.
Side Game -- Each week there will be a side game that will be played either outside or at another basket. This could be anything from Speed Putting, Ring of Fire, Mini Putt, or anything else we can come up with.

League Entry Fee -- $5
Weekly Session Fee -- $10

The League Entry Fee will be used in the following way: $4 to end of the year party (so we can kick some extra money back to Harry's Hofbrau for being hosts to our league.) This money will be used to buy a spread of food and possibly drinks (depending on how much it is) for our last league night. $1 to League Champion. This is a points league, and each week the winner will get 1 point for themselves and everybody they beat. All other places will have the same points distributed all the way through last place. At the end of the year, the League Champion will receive a Trophy Disc (DD Dye Max with the Infamous Hole #4 Oz pic) and the remaining loot, which could be a few hundred dollars.

Weekly Session payout breakdown: $4 to first place (per person), $2 to second place (per person), $1 to third place (per person), $1 (per person) to side game winner, $1 to end of the year party, and $1 to league champ fund. All of the party and league champion funds will be tracked and reported here and on discgolfscene, where the points standings will also be managed.

This format is still kinda up in the air, as this is new to most of us. If changes are needed to make this more enjoyable and smooth running, we will do it. Also, anybody that feels like bringing baskets, be it whatever type including mini baskets, please do so. That will help especially in the first few weeks as we get this nailed down to be the coolest winter league out there.

The League Opener is drawing near on 12/7/15!!! Please keep in mind this league has a $5 entry fee that will be used to help payout a League Champion at the end of the year ($1 / entrant will go towards this) and an End-of-the-Year party at the venue (Harry's Hofbrau) with food and maybe drinks provided. Each league night will be a $10 entry, and the money will be distributed like so:
$1 towards League Champion pot
$1 towards End-of-the-Year Party
$4 towards Weekly League 1st Place
$2 towards Weekly League 2nd Place
$1 towards Weekly League 3rd Place
$1 towards Weekly Side Game Winner
There will be ample chances to win $$ each night, and somebody will get paid out a handsome sum at the end of year. This League Champion will be done by a points based system, and will tally each week that is included per entrant. So the more you play, the better chance you have to win.
I will be bringing my 2 baskets (Innova Discatcher and Lightning Basket), but if anybody wants to bring anything better, please let me know. The more baskets we have, the better this will be. One will be used for the League Rounds, with the other used for practice and/or side games. If we have others, we could use those for other side games or additional putting zones.
