We are meeting up in the evening of October 2nd to grill up some food and play a round of glow disc golf. Anyone is welcome to come. Please mention if you plan to bring food by leaving a comment. So far, brats and the grill are taken care of, so if someone wants to bring some buns and some chips or anything else they deem as grillable food please feel free to do so.

We have 9 LED lights for the baskets, and if we want to not have to set up the second nine in between rounds we will need 9 more.

This last Tuesday, we did a homemade Ace Race round, which was a great, fun time. Each player was allowed two discs in their possession and given two shots per hole. Twenty-seven holes were played due to darkness, and scores were as follows:

John Broering recorded 5 aces and 5 metal hits
Ben Wonders recorded 1 ace and 6 metal hits
Scott McCullough and Nick Witter recorded 1 ace and 5 metal hits
John Bingham recorded 1 ace and 2 metal hits
Brian Taylor recorded 9 metal hits
Logan Miller recorded 6 metal hits
Brian Barclay recorded 3 metal hits
Jacobie Bagley recorded 1 metal hit

The Tuesday night league will be taking a hiatus for the remainder of the year, as it's getting too dark too soon in the evenings, and the park is swarming with soccer, cross-country, and flag football activity. It's just best if we let organized league activity on Tuesday nights lie for a while. I'll post here when we start up again and when that will be.

Don't let the lack of an organized league deter you from playing, though. This coming Tuesday, we're going to meet at 6:00 PM for a casual round from the white tees. Bag tags will be up for grabs, and fun will be had.

The Tuesday night league will have to begin play earlier than we have been, as we were unable to complete this week's round due to a distinct lack of ambient light. Play will begin no later than 6:00 PM on September 15, going forward.
Also, the format for the round on Sept. 15 will be no-fee singles, points-based, and alternating tees based on your score on the previous hole. We played this format earlier in the season.

We will be playing a modified three-disc challenge format from the white tees. Every player must bag one and only one driver, mid-range, and putter. A die will be rolled by the players to determine which disc will be used for the tee shot at each hole. Rolling a 1 or 2 requires the player to throw their driver, 3 or 4 requires the mid-range, and a 5 or 6 requires the putter to be used off the tee. Each player rolls for their tee shot on each hole. Players may use any disc they like for subsequent shots on that hole.

The winner of the round will be the player with the fewest strokes.

The format for the August 11 round of the Tuesday night "We Can Do Anything" league will be a five-disc cutthroat round played from the white (short) tees. There will be no fee for the round, but the $1 ace pool will be open for buy-in. The rules for this format are as follows:
a. Each player chooses five discs that they will play the round with.
b. If one player scores better than the rest of the card on a single hole, they are then allowed to kill a disc of their choice of each of the other players. A killed disc cannot be used for play until it has been revived.
c. If a player scores lower than the rest of the card and already has a disc killed, they can then choose to revive one of their discs, or to kill a disc of each of the other players.
d. If at least two players tie with the lowest score, then the hole is a wash. No discs are killed or revived.
e. A player can have no more than three discs killed at any given moment. If they revive one of their three killed discs then it’s open to be killed again. A player shall have at least two discs alive at all times.

First, I apologize for the delay in getting this summary up. I will endeavor to be more prompt in the future. The August 4 round of the We Can Do Anything league was played under a points-based format with alternating tees, which provided a refreshing change of pace and made for some unfamiliar shots. Players received 3 points for an eagle or better, 2 for birdie, and 1 for par on a hole. The next tee position was determined by the score from the previous hole, with birdie or better forcing the player to the long tees, par to the mids, and bogey or worse to the shorts. Two new players, Jim Beasley and Justin Stone, joined us for the round. I believe it was Jim's first time on a disc golf course, as well.

The round was won by Ryan Toth who carded 30 points, and Larry Smith was right behind with 29. Third place was a tie between Jacobie Bagley and Bret Stopher at 26 points. Fifth was John Broering at 25. Nick Witter and Brian Taylor tied for sixth place at 24. Eighth was Scott McCullough at 23 points, and James Zimmerman took ninth at 20. Ben Wonders came tenth at 17. Justin Stone and Jim Beasley rounded out the scoring with 5 and 0 points, respectively.

There is now an ace pool for the league which is now full and capped at $100. It costs $1 per round to enter, and the entries will be used to build toward CTP prizes for later league rounds.

The format for next Tuesday evening is a little weird, but I'll do my best to explain it. It's a singles round with scoring by points rather than strokes. Tees will alternate hole-to-hole, based on your score for the previous hole.

Everyone will begin the round from a red tee. We will play by posted pars on the course map next to hole one. Players recording birdie or better will play the next hole from the blue tee. Par will keep the player on the red, and bogey or worse means the player will start the next hole from the white. Note that the white tees are par 3 for the whole course.

Scoring for the round:
Eagle or better - 3 points
Birdie - 2 points
Par - 1 point
Bogey or worse - You are awarded no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

League points will still be awarded based on strokes, so keep track of those, too.

The chief goal of all club activities is to grow the sport.

No restrictions on throws (i.e. No forehand/ backhand/ roller only formats).

Be reasonable - A “putter only from the Blues” round may be fun for a casual round, but could potentially take a much greater time to play, especially if a new player attends that round. We all have lives to live away from the game.

If you know you will not be able to make it, you are still welcome to throw in formats but please keep them reasonable.

If you want to play a cash round, please say entry fee in your format submission. Fee may not be more than $5.

Whoever is running the round and doing the drawings can remove formats that they feel are not reasonable or have had poor turnouts in the past.

Last rule - come out and have fun challenging yourself to rounds you wouldn't normally play.
