With the help of Scott Carpenter, an alternate course layout has been devised to accommodate the "Deuce or Die" format. Essentially, each hole is a shorter length (150' to 250') and is capable of being completed in two strokes. Scoring is based on a pass/fail system:

Scoring system:
"Passing" a hole (ace, eagle, birdie) = 3 points
"Stringing" (hitting consecutive birdies) = 1 point

Bonuses
Metal hit on tee shot (cage or above only) = 1 point
Ace = 5 points
"Failing" a hole = 0 points

The Ace Fund for this week's format will be altered just a bit. There will be two CTP contests throughout the course. The first will be awarded as usual while the second will be a conditional prize. If an ace is recorded, that person will receive the second CTP pot. If no aces are recorded, the pot will be awarded to the winner of the conditional CTP hole.

Just a reminder that this week's League Night will follow the Best Shot doubles format for a late night glow round. Players are asked to arrive between 9:00 - 9:15 PM to get signed in. Partners will be assigned by the following: 1) Players in attendance will be listed in order of average score from lowest to highest, 2) Two pools will be created by dividing the group of players in half, 3) Players from each pool will draw a card from a separate pile of cards, 4) The players that draw identical cards from each pool will be partners.

If there is an odd number of players, the lone player will play as Cali. The Cali player receives one mulligan per hole which may be used on any shot (drive, upshot, putt). Also remember that the Ace Fund and CTP will still be available for $1 for anyone who wishes to participate. The CTP will still be awarded by individual basis. See you all tomorrow night!

It's that time of the year again! I hope you all are as excited as I am to kick off this year's Carey Park League Play.

Just a couple of quick reminders. Players are encouraged to arrive at the course between 6:00 and 6:15 PM to warm-up and sign in as tee off will begin promptly at 6:30. There is a league fee of $5 to play for the 2012 season which some of you took care of at the Spring Invitational. In addition, there are two cash prize opportunities that are entirely optional to enter. Players may contribute $1 to the Ace Fund each night which will be awarded to the first player to achieve a hole-in-one on any league night. Also, players may enter a weekly Closest-to-Pin competition for $1.

The complete list of details regarding League Format may be found under the Carey Park League Play tab. Also, new to the website is an updated Message Board! Use this as a column to post topics of discussion or announcements. Players can schedule casual rounds with other players or mention upcoming tournaments.
