Due to lack of interest, I will putting league on hold until further notice. I strongly encourage everyone to get together and come up with a day and time that we can all work with. I asked for input and all that I get are a bunch of "don't change the time on account of me".... well, if we are ever going to take any steps forward for disc golf around here we are going to need numbers: So every player counts, and we need consistent attendance. I know that we lost a lot of students over the summer, but there are still plenty of us here to pull together a good turnout. What will it take to get YOU to show up?

Thanks Doug, James and Jesse for all of the help out at Myrtle today! To anyone who missed out, be sure to stop and thank these guys for all of the hard work that they put into this course if you get a chance. I now have a real appreciation of what it takes to maintain such a heavily wooded course and we really made HUGE progress today on a couple of holes. These guys knew exactly what to do and made such an effective use of the time that we spent out there today.
To anyone who missed out, it looks like some of us will be out there again tomorrow morning. If you can make it out, your help would be greatly appreciated.

We will be having a work day scheduled for Wednesday, May 30th starting at 9:30 am and everyone is encouraged to attend (even if only for a short while). Come get your hands dirty and see first hand how a little bit of help can go a long way when we all work together.
I am very excited to get a few things cleaned up and hopefully get the wheels turning on some future ideas. Come out and lend a hand if at all possible.

Does anyone have a mulcher or access to one that we could use to get rid of the hazardous and unsightly piles of dead brush/branches/etc? (or another idea for it) Also, I am hoping to level out the te ... show more ›

Does anyone have a mulcher or access to one that we could use to get rid of the hazardous and unsightly piles of dead brush/branches/etc? (or another idea for it) Also, I am hoping to level out the teepads in the very near future. I have removed most of the smaller to medium roots from the ground, but need something a little more heavy duty to dig/ cut those bigger ones out with. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, if anyone is willing to get out there with me in the next week or so I would really like to clean up the overgrowth #13, 15 and 16 before they get out of control and just tidy up a few other holes of general trip hazards, etc.

ATTENTION! I won't be able to make it to league this coming week. League is NOT cancelled.. However: I do need someone to volunteer to bring a couple scorecards and email me the scores and names for the night or meet up to get them to me. If there are any new players, you know what to do (just have them put their full name and email on the back of the card and I'll get them added ASAP).
I am currently unable to have ANY particular day of the week off of work for any number of consecutive weeks so things are not looking good for me. Hopefully this will only be short-term but I would REALLY like to see this league keep moving forward. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I look forward to seeing you all on the course soon.

Thanks to everyone who came out tonight! We have 3 new players as of today and are up to 20 players in the league total!... After reviewing the scores tonight, I noticed that Charlie and Jesse actually shot a 45 (a bogey-free -9) so although they won the playoff it wasn't necessary.
After the playoff lasted 4 holes this evening, I think we should decide on a simpler/quicker method for tie-breakers. I would suggest a closest-to-pin sudden death.
Thanks again everyone for helping make this league a success and I look forward to seeing how it develops/evolves in the future.

BIG THANKS to everyone who came to league last night! I had a great time and it was a pleasure getting to meet everyone. I got a lot of great input for possible future leagues and am really excited to get things moving forward. There seemed to be a lot of interest in bag-tags for competition. Before we do anything like bag-tags, I will need to get a better idea of how many to expect. I have worked out most of the details with several disc golf manufacturers and retailers about getting some tags printed up and it looks like in order to do that, we would need anywhere from $3-5 each (that would be the only cost for the ENTIRE season)... I'll look into some other possibilities to help cut costs as well. As far as scheduled times go, Tuesdays are not set in stone. I'm considering alternating Tuesdays and Sundays, or just doing 2 days a week. I am not confident that I can make a commitment to running a league night on the weekend, but once we get a format set and enough people on the same page it will be easy to just show up and send in the scores for recording so that shouldn't be a problem.
...feel free to post ideas/input on the "talk" section here, or send me a message. I would very much like for everyone to be able to play a part in helping this league flourish and making it enjoyable for everyone.
