In the wilds of Northern Michigan, where towering pines meet crisp northern air, The Fossils Disc Golf Club was born from a friendly rivalry between two seasoned disc golfers.
One day, deep in the rolling hills and hidden baskets, the elder of the two stumbled upon a perfectly preserved fossil. That ancient relic became “The Fossil” our legendary traveling trophy and the ultimate prize for every hard-fought victory.
What started as a private challenge quickly grew into something bigger.
Players from across the region began showing up to test their skills, and a tight-knit community formed around the love of the game and the honor of claiming The Fossil. Our name honors that original trophy.
The T-Rex in our logo nods to the age of the fossil, the “old bones” of our founding members (and most of our crew), and serves as a reminder. No matter how ancient your bones are, you can still rip a mean drive and enjoy every round.
We’re a group of disc golfers over 40 who value skill, perseverance, camaraderie, and the timeless spirit of competition.
