Basic format:
The month of April will be round robin play to help seed teams into the playoff bracket. Each match will be a skins game between 2 doubles teams. Both players throw each shot and pick the best of their 2 lies (typical scramble rules). If teams push a hole, the next hole will be worth 2 points, push again the next hole is worth 3, so on and so forth. The team with the most points at the end of the round wins. There are no ties, playoff starting on 1 until someone wins.
The tournament is double elimination. After your first loss you will be placed in the losers bracket. The winners of the loser bracket will need to beat the winners from the winners bracket twice to win outright. The winners bracket team will need to win once.
There will be a pro and am side at check in. Both sides cost the same, but are meant to give more reasonable competition. After the round robin stage the TD (Joe Kordenbrock) withholds the right to move people up from the am side to the pro side should there be a large skill disparity. You do not need a PDGA number to play, the avg ratings are a suggestion.
Every team will have a home course and layout designated. home ad away tags will be randomly assigned through the season. Please keep your layout consistent. IE no "shorts 1-3, long 4, alt basket 5 from short pad". Keep it as a recognized layout on udisc please. Courses need to be within a reasonable drive from Kalamazoo. So sorry, no, you can't list toboggan longs as your am teams course.
Teams will have 1 week to play there match. An email list will be sent out before the first match. It is the responsibility of the home team to make contact. If the away team does not respond or attempt to schedule a match, they forfeit the week. Subs are allowed if absolutely necessary. Please inform the TD ASAP, and clear the sub with the opposing team.
Featured Card:
Once a week BDG will be filming the featured card. Featured card will be randomly assigned at first, but will transition into cherrypicked matchups we believe may be entertaining. This is entirely optional, but highly recommended.
