RULES AND GUIDELINES

1. REGISTRATION & FEES - Players are required to register online to join the league for a one-time fee of $40.00.

Fee Breakdown
$5 goes to HCDGC for administration
$5 goes to purchase end of season Awards
$30 goes to end of season cash Payouts

1a. Ace Pot - The league ace pot is completely optional, but highly encouraged. The fee is a one-time buy-in of $10.00. Your $10.00 needs to be paid online before the round starts. Once an Ace is hit during a league match and the ace pot is paid out, then there will be an option for any players to buy back in for the same $10 fee. If someone hits an ace he/she will get the entire ace pot, and in the event that multiple people ace during the same session, they will split the ace pot accordingly. If the ace pot has not been paid out after the season finale ends then all funds will be donated in a split between HCDGC and the Paul McBeth Foundation.

2. MATCHES - Official league matches will be played on Sundays and alternate between Scarboro Hills and Mill Brook disc golf courses. Sign-in begins at 9:00 AM and the matches will start at 9:30 AM. Before the round starts, players will sign in with the league director and coordinator for the day’s match. After the signing in process is finished, the groups will be broken up into groups of no more than 4 for speed of play.

2a. Travel Days - There is potential for a league “travel day” every few weeks where the Sunday morning match will be held at other courses in the area (MD/PA/DE). HCDGC will provide updates on DG Scene, UDisc, in person, and social media as they are scheduled.

3. POINTS - Players can only earn points during Sunday morning league matches. The points for that match will be determined by the amount of people who participated that day in each Division. Players earn one bonus point for winning their Division, and three bonus points for an in-round Ace.

Example:
Tom 54, Steve 55, Matt 56, Jon 57 with an in round ace.
Tom receives 4 points + 1 point for winning = 5 points
Steve receives 3 points
Matt receives 2 points
Jon receives 1 point + 3 for an in round ace = 4 points

3a. Scoring - Make sure all scores are correct before submitting your scorecard. Once your scorecards are turned in, your marked score will be your final score.

3b. Tie Breakers - If one or more Players tie with the same scores, they have two options. Option A- If you are not able to do a playoff with the person you tie, you must take the lower tag position that week and points. Option B- If both parties are able to do a playoff, they both play until one person wins. The winners will get higher points according to the result of the playoff.

3c. Leaving Early- If a Player needs to leave early during a Match then they will receive the lowest position and points available for that session.

4. DIVISIONS - Players are responsible for initially choosing their division based on their perceived skill level, and continuing to compete in that same division throughout the season.

Bronze - Beginner - Recommended PDGA 875 and below
Silver - Intermediate - Recommended PDGA 875 - 920
Gold - Advanced - Recommended PDGA 920 and above

4b. Moving Divisions - The League Director reserves the right to re-assess each player's current Division assignment and move the player to a different division in the event that the player repeatedly demonstrates skill level above or below the expectations for their current Division. This is not the case for players who win at the highest division (Gold) or place low in the lowest division (Bronze). In the event that the League Director decides to reassign a Player to a new Division during the season, or a Player requests to move divisions, then they will proceed in the new Division with a reduction of their total accrued points based on the timeframe from which they registered:

Changes within the first 4 sessions- 0 reduction in points
Changes after the first 4 sessions- 50% reduction in points

5. SEASON FINALE - The season finale will be a final match to conclude the season, and the Players last chance to earn points.

5a. Registration - There will be a registration for the finale in effort to get a proper count of how many awards should be ordered, and save on costs which can then be put back toward Payouts.

5b. Points - Points earned during the finale will be 1.5x normal weekly points.

5c. Awards - Awards will be given at the end of the season Finale to all eligible players based on their total accrued points and standing in their Division. Awards will be in the form of a Bag Tag or Trophy that the Player can keep.

5d. Payouts - Final cash payouts will go to the top 20% season point earners of each Division based on the total players that participated in the Divisions. The final amount of cash winnings for each player in the top 20% will be determined at the discretion of the League Director. Payouts will be done through PAYPAL by the Churchville Recreation Council.
