OK thanks to some help from Bob Smart Tuesday Ypsi Dubs last week was kept alive. Seems like many are enjoying Mary Beth in the evening so we will continue Tuesdays. Soon - Nov 20th our Winter leagues will start along with the MiCPS-W. This will kick off with a Double League round day - BRATS and the Farm House, with Team Night Moose. (Bring a Pirate and double your fun. ) Tim G is coordinating a Master Tournament which includes your scores from each round to determine the ultimate winner - more cash payouts and a party at the Farm House. Only 42 spots left if your interested. Play or or both leagues if you like. Nice way to kick off the Winter season.

OK until then I have updated the Fall Folly to include Tuesdays and the second course work day at Water Works on Nov 13th. We will play and work for those of us who can. Thanks to Ben Calhoun and 24 Chains who made a lot of progress on getting this course back in shape.

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Just to help with your planning here is the next few weeks of Ypsi Dubs activities.

Tuesdays is still ongoing - Now at Mary Beth Doyle (Brown Park) and this is becoming more and more Glow. Matt says it will stay there and stay going as long as there is interest. We have some of the low profile LEDs which seem to be the way to go.

Church - We will be traveling and mixing it up with some of the other local leagues at some great courses to wrap up the Fall Folly league. This Sunday we will be at Willow along with 24 Chains and Night Moose. Two rounds of leagues - play one or play both rounds. This is a great time to play Willow. No mosquitoes and the Fall colors are amazing but falling fast - that means new lanes to the baskets are opening up ;-)

The following week - Oct 30th - we will be at Kensington - Black Locus for a pre-Halloween round.

The DGLA MiCPS-W 2011/2012 start Sunday Nov 20th - Timmy G has been putting together a local kickoff which should be a blast. Get several leagues together, play two local courses, ending up at the Farm House with it's course freshly prepared for winter play and wrapping up with a Farm House party with at least three bands playing. Mark your calendar for the start of the winter points.

I hear Greg is out at Brown (Mary Beth Doyle) today since he has to head home early. The Ypsi Dubs Gordy round today has been moved back to the normal Tuesday round at Mary Beth Doyle.

There are several special events in the next few weeks to be aware of as we will join forces with several other local leagues/clubs to have a blast together before the Winter season starts.

This Sunday is Union Strike out at Independence Lake - Picnic Course in for the last time -Chilli cook-off - Fall colors and Disc Golf at it finest - enough said.... http://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/Union_Strikes_2011 Chris is on call but he will coordinate Church at Rolling if anyone can not make it to Indy.

The following Sunday Oct 23rd is a Three league gathering at Willow; Night Moose, 24 Chains and Ypsi Dubs will gather and play two rounds with a break for lunch - more details shortly.

Oct 30th Ypsi Dubs will make it to Kensington - Hopefully we can get 24 Chains to raid Kensington with us as well for more Fantastic Fall Fun....

OK some key updates. Oct 9th is the Gordy Memorial at Rolling Hills. This event hold special meaning for many of us at Ypsi Dubs so I have updated the schedule to indicate Rolling Hills and we will push back our visit to Kensington. I would have pulled that forward but the Kensington club takes a well deserved break in between seasons the week before. Based on all the other special raids and events that puts the Kensington visit out to Oct 30th. We will probably schedule another trek out there in Nov after the Winter Point Series has started to get things going in a big way.

The other change is Oct 16th - Since I know many will be having a picnic on the lake at Independence enjoying the Fall colors and a last chance to frolic in the water with their plastic before the lake freezes over. From past experience not all can make the trek for a whole day so I have schedule Oct 16th for Rolling Hills but we still need to verify if anyone will be there to run Church. Turn out at Church will be low that day either way and we will update everyone once we confirm. I will be at Union Strikes taking pictures and enjoying the day to the fullest - a rare full day kitchen pass ;-) If your not into the beauty of the Fall colors, besides being crazy or blind, you would not want to miss out on a Front Porch Productions - 101 tournament disc. I hope to see you at the Picnic. Oh those beautiful orange baskets nestled majestically along the shores - Thanks Peter K. ;-)

So here is the current schedule - The key is to know that Tuesdays will be at Mary Beth Doyle at least for a few weeks to see if this should be a regular thing. We need to figure out where to do reg and what time to really start. Also how to do payouts - it won't be me next week - sorry for the confusion in the dark last Tuesday. THANKS for everyone's help and understanding to help correct things quickly. If we want to make this a regular thing we need to figure out how to have fun but not impact others in the park, especially right by the play ground. We appreciate everyone's help in building a positive reputation for disc golf at this park. The course has great potential for Glow rounds without time limits and the occasional excursion for leagues but it is a much more open and players are very visible by residents and park visitors.

This Sunday is back at Rolling Hills - We could play long??? - There is also an event at Lakeshore so the numbers may be lower but it's Fall and that is expected. Hope to see you if you are able to make it out. Sunday at 10:30 - the new time for Sundays

I'm organizing a one day road trip up to Flip City on Sunday, October 9th. The plan is group up and save gas money - share the ride/drive.

We would leave at 6:30am to get there around 11. If we have time we might try to hit Whitehall on the way home.

Reminder tomorrow - Tuesday 9/20 - at Brown Park - Mary Beth Doyle @ 6:00. The last few holes you may want glow or LEDs. Check the Throw Shop for those nice low profile LEDs, glow plastic and ultraviolet flashlights. We will evaluate if this becomes a regular Winter league replacing Rolling Hills Tuesdays since we are impacted by the early park closure due to day light.

Ok - Next Sunday is back at Rolling Hills - maybe longs - Note Sunday is a B-tier at Lakeshore

The following Sunday is planned for BRATS - New and Improved, Freshly mowed Ben promises ;-)

Keep checking the schedule it could change at any time. There are two activities we are looking at for Sunday. We would like to hook up with some of the other Sunday leagues and get some big league rounds in with a bunch of local players we don't normally get to see.

Currently being discussed:

Kensington - I tentatively have this on the schedule for Oct 9th but this is not firm - if people have a preference on a date post it in the talk section. I'm checking on their schedule after their Summer league wraps up.

Willow on Oct 23rd is what preliminary plans have for a 24 Chain & Ypsi Dubs raid on Night Moose. Hopefully a double round with a pot luck during the lunch break. Three leagues plus a few independent scurvey dogs out for what should be a big Fall league round payout that this should represent plus it's a great time to play Willow without the state birds swarming and the Fall foliage was just amazing the last two years we did this.

Bring a few glow discs as the last few holes may be in the dark but we should be done by 8:00ish.... We will evaluate if this will be the new regular Tuesday based on participation and overall enthusiasm

Church is at Cass this Sunday - 10:30 start to beat the casuals to the course so we will start right at 10:30.

The Farm House, BRATS, Ypsi Dubs and Night Moose are looking to pull together a fun start to the Winter Point Series in Nov. They are working to get the Farm House course ready for play now that the weeds and bugs are going to go dormant. If your interested in helping out on the course see Tim G.

Ypsi Dubs and 24 Chains will be discussing a raid on Night Moose sometime in the Fall. Around Halloween is always a fun time. We saw a giant Pink Bunny last time. Two league rounds and maybe throw something on the bar-bee in between rounds.

Yes for those who plan on attending Church service next Sunday we are asking for input to decide on which local course to play out. Post your vote in the Talk section by Tuesday at Noon so we can announce the location during Tuesdays round and update the schedule.

Brats will be pushed back another week for the greens keeper to have everything ready. The Farm House course is also getting a course overhaul. Check with Tim if your interested in Helping get it ready. We are looking to have a Double league day / special tournament - details to be announced.

Soon we will be out of light to play Tuesdays at Rolling Hills. We are going to try a league at Mary Beth Doyle (Brown Park) that will be play partially Glow for about half of the round. I have updated the schedule to indicate when this will begin but we will ultimately watch the sunsets to guide us into this pilgrimage in search of the GLOW

The next round will be at Mary Beth Doyle (previously Brown Park) Sunday at 10:15. Please check the schedule as Sundays Frisbyterian Church service will be held a different local courses until, including Rolling Hills, until the Winter league starts in Nov. Tuesday will be at Rolling Hills until we run out of enough day light to get the round in before the park closes.

The Ace pool is at $342 and we are playing Shorts - That would be some nice change in your pocket for the MDGO Mi State Championships Sept 3rd. If you have a MDGO berth make sure you register by Aug 26th or you'll lose your spot and have to compete in the qualifier Friday to get back in.

Hope to see everyone at Rolling today - We will start right at 5:45 so make sure you are there and registered by 5:45.
