The cost will be $1 PER HOLE, so it IS possible for you to lose $18 in a round. I just want to be sure that everyone is clear on this fact! Now you could end up even, or up too... but as long as everyone playing is aware of the consequences!

Every player "antes" $1 per hole... top score for that hole takes the money. So say 4 people are playing, everyone antes a dollar. Player #1 and Player #2 par, Player #3 birdies, and Player #4 ACES the hole... Player 4 has the best score on that hole, so gets the other players money.
