Tex Farrell will be running league this week as I celebrate my 35th wedding anniversary. Please use the auxiliary gate to enter the park. Last rounds must tee off by 6:15 p.m. Park closes at 8 p.m.

SEASON PAYOUTS

Awards and payout will take place immediately following the conclusion of all rounds. We will also hand out CTP/LP/Ace prizes at this time.

The Top 3 in all divisions will receive a trophy. The top third of qualifying players will be paid out according to PDGA distribution guidelines. As detailed in the registration form, all full season registrants are automatically eligible for overall payouts, a la carte players must have at least four rounds of play to be considered in the overalls.

Gold Division players will receive cash. Amateur players will receive Michiana Pro Shop (MPS) merch cards loaded with credit equal to the value of their payout. MPS will be on hand for those wishing to prize out Monday night. You may also choose to redeem your card in person at MPS at a later date.

Gold Division - 2 places + Trophies for Top 3
White Division - 4 places + Trophies for Top 3
Red Division - 10 places + Trophies for Top 3
Green Division - 5 places + Trophies for Top 3
Purple Division - 7 places + Trophies for Top 3
Women's Division - 3 places + Trophies for Top 3

Ties among players in the cash will be determined by the following criteria:
1. Those present at the awards ceremony will receive the higher payout.
2. If all tied players are present those players will decide how to combine and distribute the funds (i.e. flip for it, play it off, pay the difference, etc.).

If you finish in the top third of your division but are unable to attend the awards ceremony you have three choices: A) Make arrangements with someone you trust to collect your winnings B) Donate your winnings back to the league C) I will hold on to your payout for 30 days. It will be your responsibility to make arrangements with me to get your payout. Failure to due so will result in your payout being donated back to the league for future dispersal.

All players may take greater casual relief for standing water and large brush piles on the course. Greater casual relief means that you may move you lie back as far as you'd like, so long as it is directly back in a straight line with the basket. Otherwise, play it where it lies.

I walked the course on Sunday. We still have some standing water in the usual places. Rain is in the overnight forecast. I will confirm the layout by mid-morning on Monday. It is likely we will repeat last week's layout.

Please use the auxiliary gate. The spillway has been closed and likely will be again on Monday.

The eclipse will take place (around 3 p.m.) during league hours. You may start your round before the eclipse. Ox Bow is not in the path of totality, but we will experience effects of the event. Should I determine there is insufficient light any any point during the eclipse, I will pause the event for a few minutes and restart when adequate light returns.

The park is open until 8 p.m. If you are going to watch the eclipse elsewhere with the intention to play a later round, please inform me. This will help with planning groups at the end of the day.

Scores and standings at both the PDGA and Disc Golf Scene league pages have been updated to reflect the round scores from Week 3. Thank you for your patience.

Players who withdrew received three participation points plus one point for each additional player in their division who also withdrew. No PDGA points were awarded for the incomplete round nor was any penalty incurred for the withdraw.

Please double check your results. If you have any questions be sure to reach out.

Today is the first day of league play. Layout: 18 Holes, 3-19 (including hole B). We will play from all applicable short tees (4,8 and 12-14) to available short pins (4,9, 16 and 17). A change from a previous announcement, with the inclement weather we will tee from the mats on 17 instead of the platform. This information is also in the digital scorecard.

The spillway and auxiliary gate located on CR 45 are both open. You may use either to enter the park.

Please check in before beginning your round. I will be at the picnic tables located by the putting green adjacent to the parking area. If you have not paid your entry fee you may do so at that time.

All players are required to keep score. The digital scorecard is the easiest way to do so. Log on to pdga.com/score. The access code is: whatever (one word no capitalization). If you do not have the means to score digitally, please see me for a generic paper scorecard.

All standing water is considered casual. You may play the disc where it lies after a throw or choose to take greater casual relief (directly back from and no closer to the hole in line with the basket without penalty.

Players may form their own groups of at least three but no more than five. If you need help forming a group see me at tournament central to help you find others needing a group. Whenever possible, PLEASE refrain from fivesomes as we work to have everyone complete their round before the park closes at 7 p.m. in March. Extended hours begin in April.

Welcome to the PDGA sanctioned disc golf league at Ox Bow County Park in Goshen, Indiana presented by Maple City Disc Golf. Players of all ages, genders and skill levels are welcome to participate.

League Season: March 18 - May 6, 2024

Format: 8-week singles league. One 18-hole round per week. We will play several different layouts throughout the season. Some weeks we may play more than 18 holes. Layouts will be influenced by course conditions and available daylight.

When: Mondays with flex start option from 2:00 - 7:00p.m in March, 8 p.m. in April, and 9 p.m. in May.

Entry fee: $30 for the season. A la carte weekly play is available for $7. PayPal or cash accepted. Your entry fee does not cover fees associated with park entry or daily disc golf. There is a $3 fee for vehicle entry and another $3 daily disc golf fee. The park offers an annual combo pass (entry and disc golf) for only $40. Passes can be purchased at the gatehouse or the park offices - 211 W. Lincoln Avenue in Goshen.

Divisions: PDGA ratings-based divisions plus a Women's division for league standings. Players will also receive PDGA MA1 points for each round.

Points: All players will compete for a points championship within their division. Only a player's six highest scoring weeks out of eight will count toward the overall standings. So, you can miss two weeks and still be in the mix for a top finish. Players earn three points for participation, two points for everyone in your division you beat, and one point for any ties in the divisional standings. At the conclusion of the league, division champions will be crowned and the top third in each division will receive a payout determined by the league points system. A la carte players must compete in at least 50% of the season to be considered for the overalls.

Flex-start and scoring: We will utilize the PDGA live scoring application. Everyone must keep score. Those choosing to play a flex-start round must (a) have registered for the league (b) paid their registration fee (c) play on the same Monday as the rest of the league that week and (d) play in a group of at least 3 and no more than 5 total players on the card.
