Playoff announcements:
This month begins the first of 3 months to play off for the ultimate champions of the Cup, Capo, Crewe, Associates, and Donnas Divisions. Below are the guidelines we are using for playoff seeding and points proceeding forward.
1) First and foremost, while these next 3 months are the playoff months, any and all players are welcome to join us at these events. Even if it's your first event with us. It is still first come first served at registration with a player cap of 90. You do not have to be a trophy contender to play in these events. That being said, if you are a contender, you better make sure you get there in enough time to register in the morning. Your spot will not be held just because you are a contender.
2) Before I get deep into the explanation of the contender's points race to the trophies, please note that cash and voucher payouts will be handled as normal across the entire field. There will be no separation of contenders vs. non-contenders for payouts.
3) Contenders for the trophies of the Cup, Capo, Crewe, Associates, and Donnas Divisions are any 2023 GDGC members that have attended at least 3 monthly tournaments this year.
4) Your final placement after the September tournament is your division going forward in the playoffs. Please see the most recently posted link for final division placements.
5) If you are a contender, you will only be competing against players in your established division for points. All points reset. Going into the playoffs, all contenders will enter with 10 points for each overall win and 6 points for each monthly event attended.
6) Contenders for the playoff race will be the only players to earn points. Playoff contenders will earn points based on their position in scoring. Top winner in each division will start at 100 points for the win and continue down for each position after with a 2 point spread. All other non-contending players, will have a score report-out only. No points will be given. Please look for this in the monthly score report on Disc Golf Scene.
7) We only have time to do playoffs for ties to determine payouts. It is impossible to also do playoffs for contenders points. Therefore, points ties will happen again. Note: At the very end, we will do tie playoffs for trophy winners if needed.
