Tournament of Champions and CTP Extravaganza


A quick reminder to come out and celebrate the conclusion of our disc golf season. The Tournament of Champions is a party for our members and a chance to get together to enjoy all the fun we had. Leagues and members are the backbone of our club. They provide for much of the funding and resources to put on some of the area's best tournaments. We would love to have ALL of you come out and enjoy a party, on the club.

Here is the day's schedule. Come out and cheer on your league’s champ. Come out and have a beer or two and some pizza. Come out and throw ten bucks into our random draw doubles. Come out and just hang out at Hudson Mills, on a great Saturday afternoon.

Between the champ’s round for our spectacular Bastards Cup and the draw dubs we will be drawing for our CTP Extravaganza. Even if you were not lucky enough to snag a CTP this season, you will want to be here for this drawing. It will be incredible to see our league friends take home some of this cavalcade of prizes. You need to be present, or have contacted the club to assign a representative, to win.

Ok. We're going to try it again, come Hell or highwater. I have seen two different forecasts for Thursday. One with a 55% chance of rain and the other with 20% chance. I can live with the average of the two.

So, to go over it again. Lost and Found Round to benefit North Star Reach is this Thursday, the 24th at Mary Beth Doyle. Tee off, roughly 5:30.

For the $20 entry fee you get a bag and two discs, just like the bigger tournaments. You will get something to drive with and something to putt with. These will be the only discs you can have on the course. Unless you purchase one of the extra drivers we have for $10. There is a one disc purchase limit. You can also purchase Mulligans for the low, low price of One Dollar with a 5 Mulligan limit.

Half of the TWIZBEE Ace Pool is also available at no additional charge. We are hoping that the winner, if any, will make a generous donation back to North Star Reach. Sorry, there will not be a throw-off for the ace pool if an ace is hit.

The winner will receive the 2023 TWIZBEE Lost and Found Round champion's bowl and bragging rights for a year. How can anybody top that?

With pending nasty weather and Mary Beth Doyle's poor water drainage, we have decided to postpone the world famous lost and found round, until next Thursday August 24th at 5:30 pm. This is a very important event to Brad, myself and our club. Thank you for understanding and for your patience I am now preparing some very special CTP's for next weeks soiree.

It looks as if Lost and Found Round Eve is upon us once again. Tomorrow is the big day. Lost and Found Round, 2023 edition to benefit North Star Reach.

For those of you who are new to the Lost and Found Round, we basically have commandeered all the lost discs from A3, put them into bags of two and play a round with only those two discs. But there is more. As I mentioned, your $20 entry fee gets you something to drive with and something to putt with. These would be the only two discs allowed on the course.

But, there is more. We have a box of additional drivers for sale for $10 each. You can purchase as many as you would like, but can only take the ONE additional driver on the course. Since we are playing at Mary Beth Doyle, I don't think you would need more than 2 or 3 discs anyway.

We will also have Mulligans again this year. A buck apiece with a 5 Mulligan limit.

For those Paypallers and Venmoers in the crowd, when you pay, note that this is for the Lost and Found Round. We don't want the North Star Reach money to get lost in A3 club funds.

As an added bonus, half of the TWIZBEE ace pool is in play, hopefully with the understanding that the winner or winners would make a generous donation to North Star Reach. The pool is currently at $455, but we will round up to $230 in the Lost and Found ace pool.

That is all I have. I have to start loading 45 bags of discs into the bag of my car. Might not leave room for much else. Maybe a cooler, I hope. Hope to see a lot of you at MBD tomorrow. Thank you for your support.

But of course, it is assumed that if an ace is hit, a GENEROUS portion of the pool will be donated that night to North Star Reach. Right now, the pot stands at $405.00. This year we will be at MBD where ever hole is an ace run. Good luck.

And now, the moment you have all been waiting for........THE LOST AND FOUND ROUND, 2023 Edition.

As in the past, the funds raised go to North Star Reach.

As in the past, the cost is $20 for a bag of two random discs which will be the ONLY two discs you can use during the round. Did I say ONLY two discs you can use? oh contrair. Like last year, you can purchase an extra disc from the lost and found archives of A3 Disc to also use during the round for a mere $10 bill. So, you could be using 3 discs, it is totally up to you. Did I mention the money is going to North Star Reach.

But, wait!! There's more!?! Mulligans are making a return! $1.00 apiece with a 5 Mulligan limit.

The date will be August 17. Now, per our schedule, we are to play Bandemer. But let me offer up an alternative. Because of the current and past condition of that course, I propose we change it to Mary Beth Doyle. MBD seems to have been maintained a lot better this year as compared to its cousin on the north side of town. If anybody has any objections, please let me know.

And as always, I could use a few paper bags. I'll start bagging tomorrow, so I'll let you know just how many I may need.
