Tonight was the final round of the Summer session disc golf league at Steele Creek Park. Below are the final results for all those who were able to post at least eight rounds.

Level 1: First Place- Mike Smith with a 47.8 (played 12 rounds)
Second Place-Tim Barr with a 48.3 (played 8 rounds)
Third Place-Jon Rosenbaum with a 51.3 (played 13 rounds)
Fourth Place-Steve Daves with a 52.1 (played 13 rounds)
Fifth Place-Scott DeBusk with a 54.1 (played 9 rounds)

It was a privilege to be the league administrator for this session of the league. I am very thankful for Steele Creek Park and to Randall Cross for the opportunity to compete on a beautiful disc golf course. Thank you league members for all the competitive rounds and the camaraderie we have enjoyed!

Two players posted their best rounds at Steele Creek this evening, Tim Kilbourne (46) and Alex McReynolds (51)! Way to go guys! Mike Smith had a solid round of 47, and Tim Barr shot 5 down with a 49. It was nice to have OP Osborne play with us tonight and shoot a 50.

Monday the 24th will be our 13th and final round. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

We had 12 show up tonight for our weekly league round. Mike Smith posted a 46 for a super(man) round! Kyle Henn posted his best score yet shooting a 71! Tim Kilbourne posted another solid round of 51.

There are only 3 more opportunities to post a score for this session. September 10, 17, and 20 still remain. A few members are about to max out on the 13 rounds permissible for competition. Jon Rosenbaum and Gary Canter have played 12 rounds and have only one more shot at it. Steve Daves and Tim Kilbourne have each played 11 rounds and can post 2 more.

I want to thank Jon Rosenbaum and David Leonard for helping out with facilitating the league tonight in my absence and getting the scores to me.

Ten players participated in our second league make-up round tonight, and 5 OF THE SCORES POSTED WERE UNDER PAR! That is awesome! The three level 1 guys consisting of Tim Barr (45), Mike Smith (48), Jon Rosenbaum (50), along with Randy Ward (52) from level 2, absolutely shredded the course. What a stellar round from 4 great disc golfers! Tim Kilbourne also had a nice round posting a 53. It was great to have Ward Thornton join us who shot even for the round.

Remember: No league this Monday because of the holiday. We will plan to play on Thursday the 6th.

There were some great rounds played tonight at the Steele Creek Disc Golf League. The weather was perfect as 16 league members showed up for some fierce competition. Tim Barr posted a 46 while Jon Rosenbaum posted a 49! Way to go guys!
Other notable scores were: Mike Smith (50), Ronnie Blakely (51), Steve Daves (51), and Gary Canter (52).

Our next league round will be this Thursday the 30th. This is our second scheduled league make-up round. Use this as an opportunity to eliminate one of those bad rounds.

We had 21 people tonight participating in the league. It was very encouraging to see several new faces. Tim Barr and Mike Smith posted the best rounds of the evening both shooting a 48.

Please remember that we will not be playing a league round on Monday, September 3rd because of Labor Day. The plan is to play our league round on Thursday the 6th. The schedule shows that there are 6 remaining rounds to be played, which includes 2 more make-up rounds. Our final round is scheduled for Thursday, September 20th.

Tonight we had 12 league members play in our first make-up round. Mike Smith posted the best score of the evening with a 48. Gary Canter put together a nice round with a 50. Kyle Henn shaved 10 strokes from Monday's round of 84 shooting a 74. This was his best round yet in league play. Great job Kyle!

Next league round will be Monday the 20th. Hopefully, we will have some nice weather and a good turnout.

We had some beautiful weather for league play tonight. Tim Barr posted the best score of the evening shooting a 49. Tim Kilbourne played a great round and posted a 50. Roger Crouch had a fantastic drive on hole 9 from the whites that caught plenty of chains but unfortunately did not stay in the tray. Maybe next time, Roger!

Some members have already posted 8 scores. We are approaching the point in this session when many of those horrible rounds can be dropped. As a reminder, 13 rounds can be played, of which the lowest 5 are dropped. It should get interesting at all the levels with only a few strokes making a difference.

So far both of our scheduled make-up rounds have been cancelled due to bad weather. We are attempting another make-up round this Thursday night at 6:00. My goal was to provide 3 make-up rounds this session. I still have August 30th and September 20th scheduled as a make-up round. Thursday September 20th will conclude the Summer session.

Tonight Mike Smith aced hole 8 from the whites with a Star Teebird! Great shot! Tim Barr shot an impressive 47. Jon Rosenbaum posted a solid round with a 51. Great to have David Leonard back from a leg injury. He was able to shoot a 56. Scott DeBusk played well shooting a 52.

It was great to see a score posted tonight below 50. Great job Mike Smith, who shot a 49! Alex McReynolds posted his best score of the Summer session shooting a 55. Gary Canter posted another solid round of 52. Tyler Fraser played well and ended with a 55. And Tim Kilbourne finished strong with a 54.

It is encouraging to see everyone's positive attitude as each of the levels are enjoying playing rounds together. Thank-you to the more experienced players for being patient with those new to the sport of disc golf! And thank-you to the new players who show an eagerness to learn and grow.

The league missed Amy Canter, who will be out for a while recovering from a knee injury. Get well soon Amy!

We had a beautiful evening to play our fourth league round of the summer session. Jon Rosenbaum, Tim Kilbourne, and Amy Canter posted the best scores of the night, each shooting a 52. Great round guys! It was nice to have Nathan Bailey and Brent Baker play a league round with us tonight.

I failed to mention tonight that this Thursday the 19th will be our first scheduled make-up round. Same time and format as our normal Monday night league play. This will provide an opportunity for those who have had to miss for various reasons to post another score. Everyone is welcome to play a make-up round, even if you posted a score on a normal Monday night round. Keep in mind though that 13 scores is the maximum you can post. The best 8 scores will then be your average.

Again, thanks for everyone's participation. It is good playing with different league members each week and getting to know one another.

Fifteen players showed up last night to compete in the Steele Creek disc golf league, which turned out to be a beautiful evening to play. EVERYONE IN THE LEAGUE LAST NIGHT SHAVED STROKES FROM HIS/HER PREVIOUS ROUND LAST MONDAY. That is awesome!! Special recognition for Kyle Henn who shot 11 strokes better, Gary Canter, who carded a 51, and Josh Baker who shaved 6 strokes from his round on 6-25. Great job guys!

We had 14 members participating in the Steele Creek Disc Golf League tonight. It was close competition at all levels. Beth McReynolds posted her best round of the Summer session shooting a 63. In level 2 competition Gary Canter shot a 54 and edged out David Leonard by 1 stroke. Brent Baker had the best round in level 3 with a 63. Jon Rosenbaum and I both shot a 53 which, surprisingly, was the top score in level 1.

Monday June 25th begins the Summer session of the Steele Creek disc golf league. The goal is to get back to a 6:00 shotgun start where all the league plays together. I would like to encourage those who have been involved with previous league sessions to continue to support league play. Hopefully, we can draw new players into the league as well. Final Round "The Steele Creek Disc Golf League" will conclude on Thursday Oct 27th. There will be a make up date this Saturday starting at 9:00am with final two rounds scheduled for Monday 24th and Thursday 27th. Play will need to begin no later than 5pm during final 2 rounds to complete round in daylight. 3 Players have completed their 13 rounds: Randy Ward, Gary Canter and Jon Rosenbaum. Once you have completed your 13 rounds, you are more than welcome to continue play but your scores will not count towards league total. Best 8 rounds will be calculated to determine winners in each flight.

The score totals have been finalized for the "Opening Round" of the Steele Creek Disc Golf League. Final standings will be posted in the clubhouse prior to Monday's start of "Round 2" which will consist of 13 weeks of play starting August 1st and ending October 24th. Once again we will be counting your lowest 8 scores of the 13 rounds played. Cost will include a one time registration fee of $5.00 and $1.00 per round. Thanks to all who participated during the opening round which was a huge success. The league shirts look awesome and are encouraged to be worn during play for this coming Monday. Some players will be moved to different skill levels based on their previous average scores. This will hopefully ensure that players are competing with the same level of players throughout the 2nd round of play. These rankings will also be posted in the clubhouse. I want to apologize to our league participants for my lack of timliness on posting scores and updates to web site. Due to my work schedule and travels, I am relinquishing the site responsibilities to Steve Daves who has been a tremendous help with getting scores caught up and posted more timely as of late. It was a perfect evening for 24 Disc Golf Enthusiasts who helped kick off the Inaugural Round for the Steele Creek Park Disc Golf League. It was a great turnout and all participants seemed to enjoy the camaraderie and spirit of this great sport. Participants ranged from Teens to the Middle Aged as there were 4 different divisions to accommodate all levels of play. Come out and enjoy this beautiful park and all its amenities!!!! Raindrops kept falling on our heads! Tonight's make-up league round didn't happen. There were 8 of us who showed up to post another score, but the rain and lightning hindered us from finishing the round. We never even finished the whites. However, it was great to add another league member this evening, Wes Booher. Those who paid tonight will not have to pay this Monday or whenever they play the next league round.
