About this league

The Putnam County Founding Flyers will host seven weeks of singles league play that involve our 2023 bag tags for our first of many series. Tags are sequentially numbered and players compete for the lower (better) numbers based on scores. Tags can be played for at any course and at any time. There are currently 80 bag tags. Contact Seth Lewis if you’d like to purchase a tag for $5. There are only a couple tags left.

TAGS UPDATE - We are going to try a new tags format for Series 2. We will be implementing 2 pools. (Note: it is totally up to the player which pool they choose to play) Pool A will play harder layouts and Pool B will play Shorts. The main difference with this format since the pools are playing different layouts, each pool will only be competing with competitors in their pool. Another reason for the split is to separate the CTPs and Ace Pots per pool. Pool A will have their own CTPs that only A players can win and same with Pool B. So that’s double the CTPs for the same entry fee! ($5 per round)
Top 25 tags must play Pool A.

SCHEDULE – League sessions will follow the posted schedule for Sundays (listed below). In the case of inclement weather, administrators will notify club members via Disc Golf Scene and Facebook in a timely manner. A round that is canceled will not be made up and subsequent rounds will continue to follow the posted schedule.

REGISTRATION - Check In will be set up at 12:01PM and tee off will be at 12:45 PM or shortly after. Please be prompt and respect the time of others. Sign in with your tag number and turn in your tag to league administrators by 12:30PM to play. Lower (better) scores earn the lower (better) tags. Each session will cost $5 and includes your chance at the ace fund, cash CTP, prize CTP, and payouts for the top score (or scores depending on the number of participants).

Some Bag Tag Rules - A player must be active to retain a top 15 tag. If a player has not played a league round or a challenge in 3 weeks while possessing a top 15 tag, they must forfeit their tag and swap for a higher numbered tag.

I will be donating discs and goodies throughout all of the series and we plan on doing some fun games when we have time and interest like Throw for $, ring of fire, a NS Firebird Bonus Ace Hole and more!

ACE FUND – A hole-in-one earns the player the weekly ace pot. If the weekly ace pot reaches $150 it will be capped and a secondary fund will be started. If both the primary and reserve ace funds reach $150 the weekly pot will go uncapped until someone hits a hole-in-one. If multiple aces are hit in the same night players will split only the weekly pot so that the reserve stays in tact. Any leftover cash at the end of the series will roll over to our next series. $2 per player per session will go towards the ace fund.

C.T.P.’s – Two "closest to the pin” contests at $1 each will be set up on different holes each week. The player’s drive that lands closest to the target wins. We will select shorter holes to give everyone a chance at winning prizes. There will be a cash C.T.P. each week and the amount will be determined by how many players show up to league. We will also have a prize C.T.P. which will earn players a disc of choice from our freshly restocked prize bin. If you would like to donate new or gently used discs to the vault we would greatly appreciate it. The more options for our weekly winners the better!

PAYOUTS - $1 per player per will go to payouts. These will be determined by the amount of players that show up each week.

< 15 Players - Winner Take All
16 - 25 Players - 2 Places
26 - 35 Players - 3 Places
36 - 45 Players - 4 Places
46 - 50 Players - 5 Places

ETIQUETTE – Tags can be in play outside of league rounds at any course and at any time. Typically a player will challenge an opponent with a lower (better) tag or post an open challenge on social media. Low tag chooses the layout and conditions. Any wagers should be agreed upon before the tag round is scheduled. A tie goes to the lower (better) tag. Tags are to be traded at the conclusion of a round. Please do not schedule a challenge and leave your tag at home. Most players attach tags to their disc golf bags to prevent this situation from happening. Attempt to play for tags at least once every two weeks. Be prepared for lots of challengers if you crack the top ten! Although these rounds are unsanctioned please follow all PDGA rules when playing and always demonstrate good sportsmanship.
