What a beautiful night for disc golf and what a way to end the season...

15 players came out to end the season on a high note.

We had a 3-way tie for First Place. Three teams finished at -11 with a score of 43.
The Ace Pool reached its cap of $100 but was unclaimed so we will start the 2012 season with $100 in the Ace Pool.

I want to thank everyone who came out tonight to end this league season in style. Thanks to the 40 players who have played this league this year.

8 faithful players participated tonight. We divided the group based on average scores for the season and drew partners randomly from the upper and lower pool. It worked. The 2 players with the lowest average score were paired with the 2 players with the highest average score and they all won cash.

Congratulations to Andrew Blankemeyer and Scott Brinkman on their 1st place finish with a score of 41.

One more week - next Monday night will be the last league night for this season. The Ace Pool next week should be at the $100 cap. Hope to see as many as can make it out next Monday.

We had a small group tonight but had a great night for disc golf. The days are getting shorter and we'll soon be calling the season to a close. 2 more Monday nights and it will be over till next spring.

Congratulations to Andrew Blankemeyer and Adam Warnement for their 1st place finish with a score of 45.

After the round we discussed some changes for next year. The group agreed to try a major change next week. I will have a list of players ranked based on average score for the season. The top half of the group will be paired by random draw with the lower half. This will make the teams more evenly divided and eliminate the possibility of the 2 best players being paired with each other (as happened tonight). Hopefully this will allow more of the less skilled players to get in on the payout.

We had a small crowd tonight - only 10 players. This was not enough to play 2 divisions as had been planned.

Congratulations to Andrew Blankemeyer and Mike Taylor. They finished in first place with an excellent round and a final score of 40.

This has been a good year for low scores. The score of 40 has been thrown two other times this year. Jeremy Warner threw a 40 on July 11 while playing without a partner. Andrew Blankemeyer and Ryan Gruber threw a 40 on June 20. Scores of 41 have been thrown twice, 42 has been thrown once and 43 has been thrown 3 times.

Congratulations to Steve Traucht and Fred Cartwright. They took first place on sudden death play with Tom McManness and Ray Gruber.

We looked at a handicap system tonight but did not use the adjusted scores. Had we used the adjusted scores, we would have still had a tie for first place at 43 so first and second place would have been unchanged. Third place would have gone to Renee Roebke and Andrew Blankemeyer at 44. Fourth place would have gone to Jeremy Warner and Josh Sirch at 45.

We will be dividing the group into 2 divisions tonight based on each player's average score for the season. The total payout will be unchanged but it will be divided between divisions based on the number of players in each division. The reason for the change is to give more players a greater opportunity to win cash.

Another Change: A player playing without a partner will receive 2 throws from the tee but only one additional rethrow per hole.

Both divisions will be playing for the same Ace Pool

Marc Theodore was our special guest at the Ottawa Memorial Park Cash Doubles League tonight. He came all the way from Cleveland. It was a pleasure having him in the group tonight after spending the day playing at Riverbend and Van Buren State Park.

Ryan Gruber and Adam Warnement were the winners tonight, taking First Place and $11 each with a score of 44.
We had a 3-way tie for Second Place just 1 stroke back at 45.
Another $12 was added to the Ace Pool bringing the balance to $56.

A personal highlight of the night was my throw on Hole 14 that gave the $88 Ace Pool a new home.
