Jonny Jeter had 6 birdies, 11 holes for par, and a double bogey on number 6, for a solid -4 for the day, add a little help from the -3 handicap and his 47 wins the weekly round. With league co-leader Brian Gordon out of town, Jeter took advantage of the largest group to date and will most likely take over the lead alone once new comers Gort, McCrary, Park and Yoder receive their handicaps and the points are updated. The other co-leader Harrison most likely was spending the front 9 yearning for the cool waters of Lake Tobesofkee. Harrison was -2 up to hole 15 when his drive hit the tree and dropped just in the water across the bank, double bogey. 17's second shot found the water, double bogey, 18's drive and the second shot, wet for a triple bogey. Harrison was 5 over for the round. Bryan Gort showed he's consistant with another minus 5 round which should help vault him up the leader board after next week.

Course Record Holder (-12) Bryan Gort let it be known that summer is here and he is focused on his game, shooting a 49 for his first week of league. Count on Bryan to rise quickly up the ranks once he receive's his handicap. Luppino, Harrison and Chance tied for the win for the week. Harrison moved back into a tie for the overall lead with Gordon stretching the lead 6 points over 3rd Place Jeter who was banging long putts all day inorder to stay close the leaders. Chance used his best score of league 55 to pick up 3 points over Guice and make the leap to take over 5th place.

John Harrison went into Week 7 tied with Brian Gordon for #1 with Jon Jeter nipping at their heels. Harrison finally shot a respectable round of -4 to take the win. Gordon was one stroke behind at -3 and Jeter a dissapointing +2. However, with Rick Rooney playing his 3rd week, he gained a handicap of -11 which changed Harrison finish of Week 6 to last place. This caused a two week retroactive shake up of the points which resulted in Brian Gordon taking sole ownership of the top ranking. Although Harrison, Gordon & Jeter have constantly held the top 3 positions on the leaderboard, all three were gunning for Jim Luppino who unfortunatly posted his worse round to date of par. (Exaclty folks, wish my worse round was par!) Luppino held on to the 4th spot and Brandon Guice jumped Henry Chance to move into 5th. Newcomers Mccrary and Park played a tough round with Rooney and it will be interesting to see how the points change over the next three weeks once they receive their handicaps.

Players got a sample of the summer heat Wednesday. Jim Luppino stayed consistent scoring the best round at 50 for the second week in a row. But its a handicapped league and Jeter used his -6 handicap to take the win for week 6, shooting a sweet 51. League front runner John Harrison shot an ugly 61. "I birdied #1 and then took a 6 after going O.B. on #2. There were no more birds but plenty of bogeys. I think I spent more time thinking about jumping in the lake than placing my shots." Brian Gordon took advantage of Harrison's poor performance and moved up to share the top of the leaderboard. It will be very interesting to see who is on top once newcomer Rick Rooney gains his handicap and is included in the points.

John Harrison started the round on fire making a birdy on the first 6 holes. But his game was all over the place and he scored 2 triple birdies on the back to blow what could have been a very good round. "Just couldn't keep them in bounds today and well to be honest I was taking alot of risks today. 8 Birdies and still shot 2 over is pretty frustrating now that I think about it." Brian Gordon shot par for the day and Jim Luppino shot his 2nd best round of -4 during league, but with the handicaps they tied for the day's win. Harrison stays at the top of the leaderboard ahead of Gordon by 1 point, who padded the lead over Jonny Jeter. Luppino is in fouth and is closing the gap even after missing a round of play. Pretty clear who the best player in the league is regardless of what the leaderboard may say at the moment.

Only 5 players braved the 30 to 40 mph gusts at Claystone April 27th. Brandon Guice and Henry Chance played their 3rd round and gained handicaps shooting them up the leaderboard. Harrison took his 2nd weekly title with a dismal raw score of 57. Harrison was shooting a quality round with no bogeys until 13 taking a 4, 14 - 5, 15 - 4, 16 - 4, 17 - 4, 18 - 3. "It was a great round until you got to the lake and the wind just took over. You just couldnt make putts out there today. But hey guess it will help my handicap"

That is 4 out of 22 Weeks played. Considering the league has 18 more weeks ahead and you get to use your top 16 Points this is still anybodies league. We may have not seen the winner. Make sure you get out to Claystone Wednesdays at 6PM for the action.

Four players recieved their handicaps after a surprising round without rain or storms April 20th. Brian Gordon has taken a 1 point lead in the points over the Johnny's, Harrison and Jeter. However, be aware that the points for the first three weeks will continue to change as players from those weeks are assigned a handicap. For example, Chris Andrews shot a 63 his first night of league play. With a predicted -13 handicap, his 63 will become a 50 and will score him 7 points and vault him up the leaderboard. 19 Weeks of play remain...it's anybody's game.
