About this league

Hello and thank you for registering for the

Langley Disc Golf Club's Winter League!

I will detail below how the event scoring and playoffs will work.
There will be a total of 9 events for both Men's and Women's divisions. You will get points for each event you attend, and bonus points for lowest stroke play against the field. At the end of the 9 weeks, there will be a 3 round playoff between the top 8 players in each division, MATCH PLAY style. (So #1 seed vs #8 seed etc) until a champion is decided! (If you are unsure how match play works, shoot me an email) Each event will be occurring on the first and last Sunday's of the month. FINALS are on June 5th. Tee off times will be 1:30.
(Subscribe to the calendar here: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0?cid=ZmZrYjgzc2JsNzVraDQyMmF0YWJwN285OGtAZ3JvdXAuY2FsZW5kYXIuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbQ)
Scoring is as follows: You get 1 point just for showing up. Lowest score of your division for the day gets you 8 points, 2nd lowest 7 etc. Getting an ace gets you an extra 3 points, CTP for the day gets an extra point. If you play all 9 events, be aware YOU ONLY KEEP YOUR TOP 6 EVENT SCORES. (attendance points will still count) This gives a chance for people that can't make every event. We all have lives outside of disc golf. (well some of us do anyway) In case of a tie, points for the positions will be added together, split and awarded to the places that tied (ie if two people tie for 2nd lowest score, it would look like this: 2nd place =7 points, 3rd place=6 points. 7+6=13 / 2=6.5 points are awarded to each person)
Payouts will be held until the end of the season. We are hoping to be able to payout a large portion of the field, to make sure more people get something.
TAGS will be in play for every event! Both divisions have the same tags though, so lowest score from the entire field will take home the #1 tag. If there is a tie, whomever had the lowest tag coming into the event will take the lowest tag.
Also with the ever changing landscape of Passive park, the course layout will be subject to change at the last minute. We will do our best to make sure the layout is announced and marked out as soon as we can. For the first event at least, we will be using the Flooded Layout Updated 2022

Looking forward to seeing you out there!
