Tee pads are now staked with PVC markers. Thanks for the help, Josh...good to have you back from the east coast. Holes 1-12 have double stakes like we had at Riley Conference Center; 13-18 utilize one stake and the original marking flag. Hope to add the additional 6 stakes to holes 13-18 this weekend. Looking forward to seeing everyone for BRO League play this Sunday!

That is great news regarding the ground sleeves. They are not very expensive ( $25 to $50 range ), but even cheaper if you've already got them.

Cool that you're going to do a hanging basket. I've played one in Iowa and it can be "fun".

Keep up the good work.

Decent place as any for a practice basket there, Tom. I'll buy that. As for ground sleeves. All baskets are currently sitting in sleeves. So ease of alternates is already there. As for 17's basket, we'll be using that one for the hanging basket on hole 6 because it's aluminum (lightweight to hang), and because it's the odd man out...I'm not going to request anything through MWR/DPW just yet in terms of baskets and whatnot because the course isn't established yet. I don't want to take a mile when they gave me an inch.

Rick, I don't want to speak for Rob, but I (and I'm sure he) would like to talk to you about the cost and procurement of the ground sleeves. I think the flexibility it will afford us in the future is worth the effort. As far as a new basket, we will have to come up with a plan to raise a some funds. I have always hated that basket on 17; we just need to look at the course and come up with an area that makes sense for a practice basket...Rob, any ideas? Maybe the area just above the parking lot since it doesn't interfere with any of the fairways.

It may be too late for these items, but I thought I should ask.

1. Will you have a practice area w/ basket? Some place out of the way of the actual fairways where people can gather, socialize, putt, etc.
2. Do you have plans of replacing the funky basket #17? Now seems like a good time. It could be used as the practice basket.
3. Will you be installing the baskets into ground sleeves, rather than the center post being directly mounted into concrete? Ground sleeves are very very inexpensive, ... more

No, Kirk. We toted a single basket and placed each pin when we played the front 9. I will amend the status on the Moon Lake course page so no one gets confused....just wanted to get the word out that we are in the final stages. Baskets should be pulled from Riley Conference Center soon and spotted at Moon Lake for us to place. Then it's just a matter of closing the deal on the materials for the tee pads (courtesy of Home Depot) and we will be set.
