Really fun course. The first 5-6 holes are wife open, and then after that you start to deal with more trees and elevation. So many trees have been planted and I think once those grow in this is going to be an excellent course.
The pars on the signage feel way to generous (par 4s on holes that should be par 3s and par 5s on obvious par 4s) but we used the UDisc App's par designations which felt way more accurate.
Would absolutely play this again if I was in the area.

This well designed and well equipped course offers exactly what a good disc golf course should: fun and challenge.

The first five holes are perfect examples of "target golf," with hole No. 3 being a par 3, downhill shot maker's delight.

The "real fun" begins on hole No. 6 where the course becomes integrated with elevation, woodland, and wetlands. Some holes play long and difficult. However, players of all levels can have an enjoyable disc golf experience.

If you like a challenge, this may become your favorite course.

Pros:. This is a great addition to the Northeast Indiana disc golf landscape The first several holes are in the open and hilly. The final holes play through marsh land.
This creates a favorable combination of holes with a variety of elevation changes and disc golf challenges for all player levels. Brand new DGA Mach VII baskets.
Good signage. Bathrooms and water are available at the pavilion at the start of the course. Very clean park!! Good balance of backhand and forehand holes!!


Cons: Had a difficult time initially finding the course, and Hole #1. Look for a brand new wooded pavilion. The tall wetland grass beside some fairways can also hide discs not thrown in the fairway. Keep an eye on your disc or bring a buddy, to help be an extra set of eyes! Long walks between some holes!! Probably need some benches and trash bins! Some of the throwing lines are too close to walking paths! Danger Will Robinson!!! If it rained here recently some of the back nine , could be a mud bog. Grass Tee pads. No course ever gets an A from me, if there are natural tee pads.


Other Thoughts: Angola has it going on. an 18 hole course. I could see some expansion in the years to come. Plenty of land to roam!! The entire park will provide enjoyment for many park users for years to come.

Common park is set in a large open park with rolling hills most holes are open till you get to the back 9 and some trees come into play and a couple of holes has water hazards, it is a very long course with lots of hills .
pros
Cement tee pads
nice tee signs
great elevation throughout the course
mowed fairways
long challenging holes (maybe a con of other )
nice quite secluded nature area with very little other then disc golf on back half of the course .
The park board has planned trees on the front open section of the course to make it more challanging later on and were building a bridge to get your disc that go over the creek on #14


cons
the course is fragmented in places 13 to 14 and 16-17 not a long walk just disrupts the flow a little .
the course is very long (this maybe a pro for some

the course ends a little bit away for #1 tee

when entering the park follow the signs for Selman Pavilion the first hole is located on the far end of the lot by the restrooms follow the paved path and the first hole has a large map and mailbox .
If you lose a disc check the parks department lost and found .

This new 18 hole course with MachVII baskets combines longer open holes with shorter more technical holes creating a challenging variety. The first 12 holes are open or lightly wooded and set on the rolling hills of Commons Park. The final 6 play through or along the wetlands area of the park. The ditch just beyond basket 3 and along the right fairway of hole 14 can swallow your disc if you are not careful. Also the tall wetlands grass adjacent to some of the fairways can hide an errant throw so keep your throws in the fairway. This course makes good use of the Commons Park property and offers a challenge to all skill levels of disc golfers.
