Disc golfers paradise. Tight wooded fairways that are fair in width and reward accuracy over distance. A few open shots, but this course is mostly dense woods. The first hole is wide open and one of the back nine par 4’s opens into a wide open area. One par 5 ends up in the wide open at the very end. Otherwise, prepare for jail, but not relentless punishment. They really found the balance here. I actually appreciate the need for dedicated lines moving left to right and right to left, both of which are required and will test your game. Accuracy and placement is paramount to distance here and that’s something to be celebrated.
Three specific hole, #8, #15 and #18 are all downhill BOMBS. So much fun. A few times through the round it may feel repetitive overall, but just when that happens something will surprise you. Like a pop of wide open space after suffocating jail bids. Or the walk down #16 fairway, which feels like something out of a fairy tail (at least in fall). This is a perfect course for all skill levels due to the three paved tees. I played the middle tees and felt satisfied there. A must-play / hidden gem in the PGH area. Way less hyped than Moraine and Deer Lakes but honestly, I’d rather come here sometimes and that says a lot. Less punishing than North Boundary Park. It reminds me most of Knob Hill. I highly recommend a stop here for anyone who hasn’t yet been.
