My favorite course! Though when I first started playing, I came here with a friend and got humbled by the short layout to the point of being afraid to play here for a while LOL. Eventually my skillset improved though, and now I love it!

Speaking of skillset, the front nine definitely favors backhand-dominant players while the back nine favors forehands. It's a wooded course, and the fairways are mostly decently wide, but you better come prepared to scramble. For example, Hole 8 can be especially treacherous on the long layout, but if you can master that hole, you'll be ahead of the competition.

It's also just a beautiful course in general, and it feels like a good workout every time I play here, because it's definitely a hike!

This is a very hard course. Not quite as hard as Iron Hill, Hornet's Nest, or the like. The tees are concrete, lines well defined and fairways well cleared. The only reason it doesn't get an A+ is because a few of the holes feel like all you're doing is scrambling, or have to pitch out from 5 feet because the rough is thick.

Get ready to hit some trees. I just shot +8 and I don’t feel bad about that. (You mean the last six holes aren’t all par 4s???) Lots of scrambling practice on this one. The upside is that it’s sooooo rewarding when you hit that perfect line through the trees and just park it. Bring some understable discs for tee shots and make sure you can throw a decent forehand. Really great course, and despite being so heavily wooded, it’s generally easy to find your disc if you go OB. I wimped out on Hole 2 and took it from the drop zone. No shame in my game. Don’t be a hero and lose a disc in that brown lake water. If you’ve got guaranteed distance in your arm and a disc you don’t mind losing, definitely take it from the main tee. I’m sure it feels good to get over the lake, but I’m not the guy. Know your limits, people!

Oh, and PayPal them $8 or more if you’ve got it. It says $5 recommended, but this is such a good course. If this isn’t your home course, be a person and pony up!

All you could ever want from a wooded course: long, elevation, water, shot variety, challenging, yet still fair. Sits on a Beautiful private property and designed by John Biscoe, this course requires a combination of accuracy and power to play well.

All holes have 12' x 5' concrete tees installed and there are 3 temporary turf tees in alternate positions for holes 4, 15, and 16, as well as a new concrete tee option on 2 for those who do not wish to throw over the pond. Course map is on the kiosk in the parking lot and tee signs are now up with more permanent ones coming soon. White wooden markers nailed to nearby trees lead from basket to the next tee making it rather easy to navigate for those new to the course. Course has beat in very nicely over the last 2 years and is still well maintained by the LoCo DGC.

18 large sturdy benches are in place giving a nice reprieve from the long hike.

White plastics stakes have been installed marking the OB around creeks and pond.

There is a 9-hole putter course called Scattersville opposite the parking lot, great for warming up.

I've been fortunate enough to play a wide variety of courses all across the country and consider this one of the best and most humbling courses I've played. I try to get out here a minimum of once per week and it never gets old.

Situated across two ridges and over and amongst three tributaries that form the Clark's Run, this course is a wooded gem, requiring a mix of distance, accuracy, and - most of all - a plan of attack. This is not a course where unleashing your fastest disc as hard as you can will pay dividends. Instead, you're going to need to mix up judicious tee shots with aggressive upshots - and vice versa - to score. Signage is the only missing element, but the course navigates well thanks to well-placed arrows.

PROS: Gorgeous concrete tees. Twisting woods fairways set up for players with a variety of shots in their bag. Precision players can score well by placing 200-250' shots, but big arms get a few chances to let loose, too (and shooting in the 50s will need some distance). The property is beautiful and well-maintained by the local club. Lots of elevation in play. Creek OB is fair and not overly prevalent. No mandatories, island greens, or other gimmickry. $5/day is a fair price; join LoCo DGC to play for free! Good food (Roots BBQ) and drink (Vanish) very nearby.

CONS: For those used to drinking and/or smoking during the round, that's not allowed here due to property rules. The course might be intimidating or frustrating for new or less-skilled players who can't manipulate or create different kinds of lines (but a beginner-friendly par 2 course is also on the property).

Although I've only been playing for a little over a year, I've played a decent amount of courses in multiple states. This course might just be my favorite course I've played. Well maintained, beautiful layout, beautiful terrain, new baskets, new tee pads. I love wooded courses, and this one had it all.

Fantastic Wooded Course. Plenty of holes are crushes of the tee with precision being a must. Par 4s and 5s provide room to navigate the holes in multiple shots and still shoot well. The tee pads are coming along very nicely with plenty of work being put in by the club overseeing the course. The elevation of the terrain is used wisely to create fun and interesting lines through the trees. Some fairways are quite tight but fit the flights of discs extremely well. This is for sure a must play course in the Northern Virginia area.

All tee pads are now superbly finished 5 x 12 concrete, level and perfect for those needing long run ups. Ramrod straight Innova Disc Catcher Pros all in bright yellow. Navigation between holes easy when you spot the white arrows. Elevation changes everywhere from the very obvious (and scenic) hole 10 and 11, to the deceptive (hole 3). The pond (Hole #2) and namesake creek provide the only natural OBs throughout the course. Overly aggressive play (think high speed drivers) is it’s own penalty when tree kicks take you deep off the fairway. The walks between holes are modest and generally eliminate conflicts between cards playing next to one another. In fact, if another card puts two holes between your card, you might not see each other until you’ve completed the round (a very nice plus). Cart friendly for those who roll. Benches on most holes for a quiet, contemplative rest between holes. Listen for the Pileated woodpeckers who next around hole 12. What a sight to see when they are in flight.

The other bonus is the youth course (Scattersville Disc Golf Course) to the right of the gravel parking lot. You can play a 9 hole warm-up round in about 15 minutes, mostly mids and putters, before hitting the big course. Rating went to A+ now that all concrete pads are completed! Signs are planned but not a drawback since the course map is widely available on-line as well as tournament caddy books.

I'm biased, but I love this course. There is a great mix and variety of holes and terrain/elevation. It's pretty much all wooded, but it has some rather wide fairways that still require touch/placement and some tight fairways that make you second guess your strategy. It's rather humbling as I rarely shoot par :-(
