Stumbled across this sweet little course while on a weekend trip to Charlottesville and it's about as great a 9-hole course as one could hope to find! With two baskets and two tee boxes on each hole, there's a huge amount of variety in shots available. It's mostly tucked in amidst trees, but it's not so heavily wooded that beginners will hate it. Lots of variation in shot types, ceilings, angles, etc. There's a beautiful creek running through the middle of it, but not so close that you're constantly in danger of going for a dip. There's a cool hole where you're throwing about 250 up a steep hill, and if you get the landing angle right, you're parked, and if you don't, you're rolling 150 feet back down... Huge props to the designer and folks who maintain it -- the rough isn't so terrible that you're likely to lose a disc. The one small quibble I have is that blue astroturf is used for both tee boxes, so I mixed up the tee-off for the red course layout vs. the blue course layout for a few holes until I realized I needed to go off the sign color instead! But it's a really nice course for either a quick 9 or you could do a full 36 of different holes.
