It had so much promise, but I doubt I will ever go back. Great sign to explain things. 3 quality teepads per hole. It does not drain well. Shoes wet after the first hole. #5 is an amazing fair tight par 5. I skipped 6 & 7 because I only had a few discs and didn't want to lose one due to the water hazards. There is stagnant gross smelly water close to some of the baskets that I would not want to go in to get a disc. I couldn't figure out #17. It was overgrown by the white teepad. Seemed unplayable. I liked hole 18.

This is a pretty course with some great holes. The park, tee signs, and setting is delightful. This course may have the best and longest tee pads I have ever seen. As other reviewers have noted, there are multiple tee placements and the choice one makes will make all the difference in enjoyment one has of this course. The first part of the course is carved through some really nasty thickets (thicker even than "Black Falcon" of the 2017 Masters Worlds, Michigan). Pray you don't deviate from the fairway as some of those thickets has water that will cause you to leave your disc behind.

As much as I like the signs, tee pads, and park, I find that this course has some serious overlapping layout issues that made us scrambling to throw at the right basket, and often, scrambling to find the next tee. Some targets are tucked in a really tight pocket; pockets that seem a little unreasonable.

I'd encourage designers - or a club - to rethink signage to better guide new folks while they are playing this course. Second, to eliminate the conditions under which one can throw at the wrong target. These are small changes that could make a significant difference.

Having written this, there are a few holes that took my breath away. This course requires the ability to finesse and throw some bombers. With minor tweaks, I could easily give this course an "A", but I think the tweaks are necessary. But this is from an Old School Frisbeetarian...

Mainly a parkland course with 6 holes cut out of the brush. Most holes offer three sets of concrete tees but four courses are offered. I wasn't a fan of a few holes, but mostly well designed holes. For a long course, it was quite technical and tight. The most diabolical is the 5th hole, a par 5 at 835 feet, cut entirely through the brush. The Gold course's par is ridiculous with three par 3's over 500 ft. (the 9th at 592 ft.) Overall, if you choose the proper course, you will have a fun and challenging time. But, bring a disc retriever since the water does come in play several times. It's a well manicured course in the park area.

The holes are long and each hole has its own thing going on. Lots of water hazards. Great design. Definitely in my top 10. Half of the joggers, bikers, and dog walkers stopped and spoke with us as we played. Everyone was very nice and polite. I can see a pro tour stop here. We played the shorts and averaged even. We will definitely play here again when we visit Florida every spring. Just an amazing design with great flow.

Oldsmar is Tampa's first modern Championship level tournament course with 3 teepads per hole, Red, White and Gold, to challenge all skill levels with real PAR 4 and PAR 5s'. The extra long concrete teepads and amazing signage surrounded by a saltwater canal and mangrove preserves makes Oldsmar a must play and one of Florida's top courses.
