Epic course with amazing views. This year the course was moved to the Navajo lift side instead of Giant Steps and it's much better terrain for a disc golf course in the new location. There are way more grassy fairways and your not hiking on rocks the entire time which is a huge improvement in my opinion. The holes on the front 9 are huge and challenging and then you ride the lift up again to play the back 9 and the holes over there are somewhat shorter and technical in some cases. Overall it was a really fun course with the best views a disc golf course can offer.
For $15 per person to play, I would except professional disc golf baskets at this course. The baskets here are pitiful and inconsistent (the basket on hole 9 is a joke). I easily added 3 strokes because of the strange baskets. My only other gripe about the new course layout is most of the tee pads are facing at a downhill angle, short, a bit rocky. The staff should spend a little more time leveling out the tee pads and make them 4 feet longer. On such a huge mountain course as this, it's important to be able to get a running start for your drive to get more distance, but the tee pads are so gnarly that you basically have to stand still to drive so you don't roll your ankle on the awkward downhill facing and short tee pads.
The Brian Head staff explained that the new course layout is temporary this year as they are constructing a high speed quad lift on Giant Steps but they should honestly improve the baskets and tee pads and keep the course where it is now, on the Navajo side. If the baskets and tee pads were improved this would without a doubt be an A+ course.
