Great course. Play there once a week. It eats my lunch usually, but I love the challenge. Would like to see the pile of blacktop removed from in front of Hole 1. The new hole location for Hole 4 behind the trees makes it very difficult to par. Love Holes 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 15, 18. Wish it was kept a little more litter free.

I see why people like this course and some of the holes are unique and fun challenges, but the course is just far too flawed, in my opinion. Hole one beats the absolute crap out of your discs if you don't clear 400+'. I had a bad drive, came up just short of the woods and ended up with a nasty gash on a new star plastic disc. Same thing on two. It's not a tough distance to hit if you have a decent arm, but if you're aiming to land just short of the basket and undershoot by even 20 feet, your disc gets beat up. A couple of the distances seem wrong (4?). The woods are absolutely full of broken glass, trash, and randomly, dirty blankets, so that's no fun. There are random kids running around and riding bikes through the woods almost nonstop, so there are obstacles all over the place. Some of the holes that shoot downhill have absolutely terrible footing. If you don't drive down to flat (can happen easily by hitting a tree, or if you have a weak arm), you'll have to approach from very unstable and loose dirt, where it's difficult to maintain balance. I've seen other players fall while trying to make approach shots. If you're playing in the evening, you can forget about putting towards the west on some of the holes without having someone hold a disc in front of your face to block the sun. I started a round at 6 PM and I was annoyed to have to constantly take off and put back on my sunglasses. Some of the shots are blind with extremely long unmaintained grass all over the place, so if you shoot at all imperfectly without a spotter, you're going to definitely lose discs. I played reasonably well (1 over par, which is probably a pretty decent round for me), but I still found myself really annoyed and frustrated with the course. I see the merit of this course, but to me, it's unquestionably not worth the drive from Salt Lake City, except for very rare circumstances.

Very cool course. Great design. Yes it can be a little difficult finding your way around at times, but there were plenty of friendly locals out there to show me the way. I could not believe how thick the woods were. I felt like I was back in Virginia. The fairways are narrow and challenging. It would be nice if the tee pads and signs were better, but the amazing terrain and crazy cool shots make up for it. I'd give it an A if the tee pads and signs were better.

One of the best courses in Utah. The course is not easy and not something I would recommend for a beginners. Some parts of the course are pretty technical and narrow. If it is your first time through, try and go with someone who knows the course because the course mainly goes through wooded areas and finding the baskets can be a little tricky. If you like a challenge give this course a shot, totally a blast.

This is a course where looks can be deceiving. Starting out this course looks like hell. There is concrete and asphault all around so that is a major hazard to put chips into your disc but after the second basket you walk into this lush forest. Absolutely beautiful after that. Watch out for the sixth basket, which I have nicknamed fairway to heaven. When you get there you will see why.

Good course, one of the most complete and shady courses in UT. It has elevation changes, ample vegetation, and a few wide open holes. It has been improved with multiple pin positions and paved tee pads for most of the holes. It would be nice if there were signs. Overall a great course to play if you are near American Fork

the first time i played this course it became one of my favorites. i would give it an a plus except for a few defaults. they need tee pads and clear maps on where to go next there are some google earth maps posted but they dont help much. other than that i love it just make sure you bring some water and good shoes because it is a hike!

This course is so unique, there is nothing else like it in Utah. Art Dye is challenging for golfers of all skill levels. Depending on the season, water hazards can come into play on several of the holes. Trees can come into play on every hole. Extreme elevation changes as well as risky basket placements add to the fun of Dye. The reasons I do not give this course an A+ are- No tee signs or tee pads (although there are small concrete blocks with numbers). It is a multi use park which can be bad for the golf experience, people standing in fairways, vandalism, etc. The fairways for holes 1 and 2 are sometimes littered with work vehicles and/or mounds of concrete or other stuff, this does not make them unplayable and can inspire some creative throws but none the less is a negative. Despite these faults there is a rugged charm that Art Dye has. I hope that this course never dies. Update: 2/3 of the holes now have quality tee pads, they are unique and well made. Benches and stumps have also been installed at many of the tees. Baskets are being moved more frequently now, utilizing all the different positions including the super elevated basket on 6. Art Dye is a great example of how small, consistent improvements by locals can dramatically improve the overall quality of a course. Art Dye could just continue to get better and better.

Favorite course in Utah. No other course in Utah with so many obstacles. Designed for advanced players. Lots of junk/tree debris around, but that is your penalty for a wayward throw and makes the course more interesting. Most of the course is played in the shade through thick tree cover which is nice on a hot sunny day. Find a local to take you through first time and you'll love it.
