The first several holes play through the campus and close to people or cars, which isn't ideal. There's not much pointing you to the next hole and many times you have to walk a couple hundred feet from the last basket to the next teepad. Once you finally do get to the open field, there's a par 5 which is straight up a steep hill and very strenuous to get to. Then it's up and down big hills in the open sun to finish. Definitely bring sunblock and plenty of water. If you are playing Mon.-Friday, you have to stop in and get a parking pass, but not on the weekend. The course did offer some great views in the open area, number 12 was fun! Worth a trip if you're close, but I wouldn't travel just for this course.

I traveled in from Ohio with friends for a weekend dg vacation. The front 9 holes are chopped in the middle of campus. There was nothing special until the back 9 when it opens up. It was tough to navigate even with directional signs. Long to the point of ridiculous walks between holes. The holes that were good are strong enough to carry a an overall B-.

Good course overall (imo). Tees for all levels (short, medium and far). Only Pro tees have pads. Pars 3,4 and 5. 3 pin locations. Holes anywhere from 160 to 1000 feet. If you have a big arm you should ... show more ›

Good course overall (imo). Tees for all levels (short, medium and far). Only Pro tees have pads. Pars 3,4 and 5. 3 pin locations. Holes anywhere from 160 to 1000 feet. If you have a big arm you should crush this course. Mostly wide open (tree here or there) but has a bit of everything : open, narrow, short, far, up/down hill, water and a little o.b. all over. Course on campus which means the grass will always be kept. No smoking. No bathrooms in the winter. As far as I know only 1 visitors parking lot (by hole 5). A map or guide is a must for your first time (don't go blind). I didn't care for how long some of the walks were between holes. If/when you get in/out the woods make sure to check for tics (that's anywhere though). Can get very wet/soggy. There's a Sheetz about a half mile away if you need something.

Played this course for the first time yesterday, and it lived up to the hype, in my opinion. Playing from the White Tees, it was a fun mix of length and accuracy, with well thought out OB coming into play on almost every hole. The wind is also something that needs taken into consideration on most shots. My only "Con" that I can think of is the lack of tee pads of any kind for the majority of the Whites or Greens, as there is just a post and grass. other than that, the course is very playable and nice!

- undulating landscape with beautiful views.
Cons;
- hole 7 - basket on top of the world,
- hard to navigate for first timers, (couldn't find hole 4)
- sequence of holes 3,4, and 5 - rediculous, (1/2 mile walk)

I did not like the Gold Tees. But I am looking forward to watching the Best in the World play them! There is a lot of walking inbetween holes, SUPER LONG OPEN Holes. Definite variations and challenges. Certainly not boring, but the shorter tees are better for the under 300 Ft thrower. Also OB lines that are impossible to see from the Box. #7 is a signature Killer. Uphill and around a bend about 900 Ft , then the basket is on very precarious windy top. Water hazards on 1, 4, and 18. I do want to try the shorter tees one day, but I'll most likely always choose Moraine instead!

After last year's completion to a full 18, this course has added some nice holes that are enjoyable. The front 6 though are my biggest concern. These holes are nothing really challenging. The gold pins are good, but overall the front 6 if played from mid are all birdie holes. 7 is an uphill death climb, place your shot carefully. 8 and 9 are easy birds. 11 allows you to crush a massive drive off the tee if you have the arm to do so, and 12 follows suit. Though my favorite holes here are 15-17, as they have more wooded integration, really nice holes there.

Pros: Back 9 offer some nice elevation and some woods to navigate. Few open shots to crank out a massive drive.
Cons: Wind can be a huge factor, plus the holes that are close to campus are overly simple. This course also retains a lot of water in some areas so it can get muddy easily. I'm puzzled as to why this is in the rotation for worlds. I'd much rather have seen IUP in the lineup.
