Good variety of shots types and lengths with multiple basket locations and excellent signage. The layout offers multiple ways to play holes, rewarding creative shot makers. Always a nice walk in nature. The back 8 is especially scenic. The excellent community makes this a fun place to play, whether it’s a fun or competitive round. UPDATE: New tree plantings (on holes 2,7,10,18 primarily) will tighten up some of the holes, bringing back more shotmaking and precision to hit the lines.

I like the new layout for the most part but of you didn't know where you were going you'd never find the back 9 and even if you did good luck finding 17 & 18. Half of the new tee pads are dangerously slick. Park is often to crowded with other park guests to safely play on the weekends. Hole 4 is a big problem, placed way too close to the playground and across a heavily used walking path. More often than not I've has to skip the hole.

Hopefully they're just still working on this course (I saw that they were renovating it in 2020). Even with arrows it was difficult finding the next tee. It always felt like you were crossing somebod ... show more ›

It always felt like you were crossing somebody else's path. The back nine is a complete guessing game of finding the next tee or basket. I stopped trying to find hole 17 and 18.

Fun and challenging course which has a good mixture of open and wooded holes. Most baskets range 330-400 feet from the tee with a few over 400 feet. Course demands both power and precision with the typical shot requiring you to clear 200 feet of open space and then 200 more feet with tight tree coverage. Holes are designed fairly and force you to throw certain shots. There is a 3-hole stretch on the back 9 with shorter, unobstructed baskets which don't match the feel of the rest of the course. The first 3 holes play as open.

Overall this is a very good course with the potential of being great. The main problem is that the course is still a work in progress. Navigation is very hard and you'll get lost if you don't take a picture of the map by hole 1. There is some cleaning up to do around some of the fairways (mainly 17 & 18). A few of the baskets on the back 9 could be reworked to add challenge. Finally, a dangerous, blind shot on hole 10 which crosses a bike path needs to be changed. These, however, are all fixable.

The main thing the course has going for it is the space itself is wonderful. The trees are the perfect density apart for good disc golf. There is ample space to let the disc rip when you have to. The fairways use a great combination of open grass and trees to create challenge. I would not be surprised to come back in a few years and have this be an elite course. If you want to be challenged by far and precise shots with some (but not a lot) of wiggle room for error, this is the course for you.

Ah Rockburn, an all around ok course. Ok concrete tee pads, a few pin placements for each hole and a mix or open and wooded holes make this course pretty decent. Some signs have been busted up but for the most part the course is navigable. You do have some bikers that roll through some of the trails that criss cross the course but it's pretty minimal.

This is the closest course to where I live and it's in a very family, kid-friendly and multi-sport friendly Howard County Park. There are a good number of folks who come through the course but there are also good times to hit the course to have holes to yourself for hours of uninterrupted practice.

For a returning beginner I've found this course to be very challenging and offers a good mix of field, semi-wooded and very nice elevation changes. I like it and look forward to leveraging my closeness to the park to get in many more hours on course.

Check it out if you're in the area, looking for something new or you used to play this course in the early days; my understanding is that it looks wonderful now that landscaping is matured. The folks who setup this originally did a nice job.

The course overall feels a bit dated and could use some attention from a good volunteer group, disc club, course fund raising effort to update/upgrade [signage, baskets, tee pad maintenance, etc.].

At first this course can be challenging to figure out the flow of the holes, location of baskets and where the many different options of the basket setting might be in. Since I've had opportunities to get out during this years very warm winter it's been great to walk the course to see through the trees before all the leaves are back out. My suspicion is that this course gets even harder when all the underbrush and trees are in season.

[B+] I think this will go up over the next year or two. It turns out that there is a Volunteer Group run though Howard County Parks that is looking to find folks to help out with the course.

tee pad signs are rotted, shot and broken, some completely missing. found the basket for hole 8, but never found the tee pad. biggest challenge on this course is finding the next hole, second biggest is avoiding joggers, cyclists, dogs and footballs. some work has obviously been done recently to clean it up, at least around the baskets, thats the only reason i geve it a C- instead of a D-.
