This is a nice course for beginner-intermediate players or for advanced players to work on the short game. A few holes are wide open 300 footers, while the rest are placed among the trees. The creek comes into play on a few holes. Surprisingly for a small course like this, it does have concrete tee pads that are flush with the ground level and are equipped with tee signs. Mach III baskets are all in great shape and this course is always kept in excellent condition.
Hole 1 is open but it can be easy to misjudge the elevation drop-off and the creek is right behind the basket.
Hole 2 another open shot with the road/4-H building/creek O.B. Road is right behind this basket.
Hole 3 uses the creek and a row of pine trees to keep things interesting. A local told me that some spots in the creek on this hole are fairly deep and if the water isn't a problem the tall grass and the stingweed can be, along the bank.
Hole 4 Open and the basket placed on top of the creek berm. Behind the basket and right of the bike/walk way will land you in some tall grass.
Hole 5 Throws from an open field back into the wooded part of the park.
Hole 6 is a short walk across the street, next to the creek. While not a long fairway, the tee pad and the basket are in line with a row of short, bushy trees. The slope from the alley drive and the creek can cause a disc to roll down to the creek. Not sure if the alley is O.B. but the playground to the right of that I'm sure is O.B.
Hole 7 is an open fairway but the tee pad is behind and to the right of a row of bushes, forcing an anhizer shot for RHBH players and Lefties can hang it out over the creek for a nice drive.
Hole 8 Short and technical. The tee pad is behind a row of trees with a small window for a direct throw/Hyzer-flip OR you can disc-up and throw a bomb hizer over the pines. Just be careful not to over drive into the brush/creek.
Hole 9 There are a couple lines available left or right of the bushes. Left exposes a drive to the creek and the right is fairly tight around the bushes and trees with that line of flight and the basket behind/under a tree.
Hole 9 meets back up with hole 1, next to the parking lot.
Some improvements could include a public bathroom and last few times I was there, they redone the street and tee pads for holes 2 and 6 were not poured yet. Maybe plant some more trees for those open shots to add some difficulty.
All in all, Championship traits on a beginner course. At first it looks like a chip-shot course but pin placements use all obstacles to the best of their ability. Whoever designed this course did a A+ job, using what they had to make a pretty decent course.
