For a beginner like me, less than 2 months playing, the length of this course kills the score. The grass is way over watered and unless you throw well over 300ft, you have to lay up very short on hole 4 or have you disc chewed up by the gravel parking lot. Hole 7, if the tee pad was moved to the right about 15 feet, it would give you a better line through the trees instead of a throw and pray it misses. Needs concrete tee pads or at least something.

Watered too much during the summer and the wind blows all of the time. Not enough trees for technical shots, very wide open.
Update March 2016 - added 3 new trees to hole 1 and 2 fairways. Makes it a little more technical. Added alternate yellow tees most shorter than 300ft for more birdie opportunities.
Summer 2019 course redesign: added several trees to holes 3-6. It’ll take several years before they are big enough to be a factor. Moved baskets 5&6, taking the softball field out of play. Created an island hole after hole 1. Map is included on hole 1 pics. Tee pads are in with all new tee signs.

I will first admit I am a little biased about this course because it is my home course and I also designed it with the help of the Parks and Rec department here in Mountain Home. I like playing this course a lot. It does not have as many in air obstacles as other courses but it lends itself to a lot of "airing it out" opportunities. Holes 7-9 are the best ones to play because trees do come into play on those holes. Holes 1-6 have some obstacles such as small hills, roadways and a BMX track.The course is over watered during the watering season and your feet will get wet if you are not careful. If you live in the Mountain Home area come out and play. If you don't come over and give it a try.

This is my home course and where I learned to play. The course now has rubber tee pads and an18-hole layout. There are several ace runs with the new layout. There are also several newer trees that have added some much needed obstacles. There are some good OB obstacles that make this course interesting. It could use more trees. The wind can be strong here, so bring your overstable wind fighters.
