I was excited to hear Sandy Pines had a disc golf course. It's located in a multi-use park (playground, tennis courts, beach adjacent) which is often times filled with kids who don't know what disc golf is and it's very likely they'll pick up your disc if you aren't paying attention. There are no tee pads but they do have nice metal signs with distance and a vector drawing of approximately where the pin is (They over-emphasize turns but most baskets are easy to spot from the tee). The pins are metal poles with chains but no baskets. Most holes are fairly short. The first half is pretty much just straight, pretty open shots. A couple holes are on the beach along the lake. Hole 9 is probably the most exciting, which is a shot uphill into a cluster of trees. It's nothing I'd go out of my way to play but if you are a Sandy Pines member (or visiting a friend there) you should give it a try. I think with a little help from actual disc golfers they could turn this into a more exciting course with minimal tweaks.
