As a park Under the Oaks deserves an A, but I give the course itself a B. There is plenty to like about Under the Oaks. The holes are diverse, with different features from hole to hole. The first hole is a par 4 and is very birdy-able, but throw too low and you're in the bushes, too high and you'll get knocked down by a low hanging branch. As was previously mentioned, #2 has a large "V" shaped tree directly in front of the tee pad, some players choose to throw through the "V". I throw a hyzer that hugs the tree and usually lands left of the walking path. #3 is a must-birdy hole, go for broke and you might get an ace. #4 requires an accurate 1st throw, which sets up a long 2nd throw, making it ripe for a birdy. #5 can be tough on your discs with sets of trees between the tee pad and the walking path, get it into the clearing beyond the path and you set yourself up for a flexible 2nd throw at the basket. #6 is the "bay" hole, some difficult trees to manuveur around in front of the tee pad. Your second throw plays up an incline with low hanging branches which narrow your window, and you're also fighting a prevailing wind/breeze off the bay. I've thrown an Innova Champion Boss here on my 2nd throw to good effect, it fights that wind pretty well. #7 is very birdy-able, I take a straight line off the tee and let it hook left towards the basket. However, if the disc fails to hook you might end up closer to basket #4. #8 has a narrow window off the tee and plays over a conrete pad and picnic table, get it down range well enough and you'll be looking at a nice distance birdy putt. #9 backtracks adjacent to #8, again trees off the tee pad will force you to choose a path. I like to go to the right off the tee, over the picnic table, like #8, it gives you a nice distance birdy putt opportunity. I usually play this course 3 or 4 times in an outting. I dont find the walking path to be much of a problem, although it is well used, I even use it myself to warm up before a long throw. Overall, this is a well designed course, in a beautiful setting.

I`ve played a lot of courses over the years and this is a sweet one. hole 6 by the bay is one of the prettiest holes I ever saw! you gotta watch for the walkers so you don`t bean somebody upside the head and there`s times when there is plenty of em,but it`s rare that it gets so bad as to be a distraction.For now the course isn1t crowded with discgolfers so you rarley ever have to wait for the group ahead so thats a plus.but thats probably gonna change after everybody reads this review.So come visit panama city try the course just a few times then ease on back home and free up some room for me to throw.Don`t be movin down here trying to play every day that ain`t cool.

This is a good course for an advanced beginner to start expanding their range. There is a good mix of shots to baskets protected by strategic cover. The biggest problem is the closeness of the park's walking trail which crosses directly through some holes. A nice course in a beautiful park makes a welcome addition to the Panama City courses.

Parks and Recreation did extremely well with the space they had available. Good mix of hole lengths will appeal to all skill levels. The tee for hole 2 is very close to a huge tree making your drive accuracy very important. Hole 5 is over 400 feet with trees in the middle of the fairway. If there were a way to combine Joe Moody Harris and this park on the same piece of land, it would be a B course for sure.

I enjoyed the course right away and was happy to finally have one in this area. As I mentioned I think it is a good place to bring the family while you play as there is a playground area, picnic tables, rest rooms, and on the back of the park is the bay. The course itself is actually on the left side of the park as you enter and is seperated by a chain link fence, but does have a walking track around the course. Holes seem to be a good length. Look for hole 9 after you throw your disc on hole 8. Hole 9 is parallel to hole 8 and you will need to look for the concrete pad for hole 9 on your left as you walk back towards the beginning of hole 8. Went during sunset when it wasn't so hot, but there is plenty of shade on just about every hole, and there really were not many people in the park
