I've been playing this course almost since it opened. It's a rugged course and a bit tricky to find all of the baskets and tees on the first round. It will be much better if the tee boxes are ever finished. I've appreciated the minor improvements with the bridge and stepping stones and paths on the steep hillsides. The holes aren't too long and require throw a decent drive with a right turn at the end to be good. I think the numbering should be changed since I prefer to start at hole 3, which is an easier walk from the parking lot than hole 1 for both A and B tees. Getting to the first tee from the parking lot can be tricky, and it's easier to climb down to it from hole 9.

This will always be my "home course" since it is where I started playing disc golf. It is very challenging. There are not a lot of long distances, but a lot of finesse is needed to get around the many obstacles, even on short throws. There are many trees and hills, plus a steep hill that my son and I always call "the cliff" (holes 8 and 9). Many times we've muttered, "oops, I threw it off the cliff." We've lost several discs, and found several others, making each trip even more of an adventure. I got my first ace here on 2B. Permanent tee pads are not installed yet, so you have a short, dirt runway, but that's fine with me since I rarely run-up on my drives anyway. After playing this course many times, I played a couple other groomed park courses and felt they were extremely easy because I could see every hole from the tees, where Blind Gully rarely gives you a glimpse of the target from the tee. I refuse rate this course low because of the lack of grooming-- that will come with time. I'll rate it high because of the fun I have playing there. I'm yet to par the course, but it will come with time. I can't say that about another nearby course where I threw par the first time through and had little desire to go back.

This course is challenging and well laid out. Most of the holes are blind and many are very tight and technical. The course reminds me of Solitude. The thing I would most like to change is the tees, but it sounds like there are already plans to put in concrete ones. Many of them just don't provide enough room.

Steep, raw, hilly terrain and some risky pin locations make Blind Gully a unique 9 hole challenge. Uphill and downhill throws are prevalent. 9 long is a Monster. Brand new baskets are sweet. Once the fairways are a bit more established and there is official tees and signage in the summer I will upgrade this rating. It's possible to have a mini-mountain golf experience here. Through development I think this 9 hole course in Northern Utah has some great potential.

Not as bad as I thought to play however hiking up massive slopes and crossing fallen logs to continue past hole six kinda sucks. Overall the coarse is pretty rugged a lot of trees a river huge gully but still fun. Hole eight is very aceable for a beginner as well as four. Hole six has a high potential for losing discs in the river the trees or the dead wood all around. Hole seven is hard cause a pad is throwing up a very steep mountain side and b pad is a hike to the top of the slope. When throwing from b pad a bad throw could leave you way back down the slope. Hole nine effen sucks your throwing across a Freaken huge drop and if not throwen right you'll be sliding down down down hill to get your disc. Hole five is the best hole flat pretty straight drive unless you throw side ARM then its kinda difficult cause of the tree line on the left side.

I think this is the best layout for the area given. The best holes are 1, 3, 6, and 9. 9 is a crazy risk/reward shot about 375 uphill overhanging a huge pit. Go left if you can't make it across. Take a spotter as this course is very tight in the woods and is very primitive. The pads are dirt for now and we are hoping to have it in prime condition by mid 2012...if the world hasn't ended. Please be courteous and do not throw while cars are driving by on hole 8 and 9.
