Wingfoot has a nice blend of technical shots along with a few wide open holes where you can just chuck it and not worry too much about the lie. It's definitely well known for having lots of trees and some unique tunnel shots though. I like a few of the downhill holes along with the presence of both short and long holes. It's well maintained with a few water hazards littered about (nothing is too daunting in that regard though). Not a bad course!

Played this course last weekend for the first time with my 11 yr old son. We both had a great time playing the various types of holes - changing elevations, right/left dogleg, open, tight, water, elevated baskets, etc. Had a little trouble finding tee pad for hole #2, but other than that, nice tee pads, tee signs, etc. We will definitely be back!!

Great course that I only started playing two years ago but it's challenging and a fun run. I almost never have to wait to throw but it has seemed to get a bit busier lately. New hole markers this year are really nice! More trash cans needed, which is probably why lazy good for nothing people litter so much; and a few other general tweaks would give this an A. First time out I suggest going with someone who knows the layout as it can be challenging knowing where to go next.

Really enjoy this course. I recommend and actively invite people to play this course with me. Normally a quick and easy throw. I am new to the sport and have made this my home course due to proximity to my house. The different type layouts has prepared me for venturing to other courses. Wish people wouldn't leave their trash everywhere. I don't blame the park for this. I blame asshole people. Almost every time I play I find some ones trash lying around. One recommendation I would make is to advertise and better display the course. The posts highlighting the tees are nice. An entrance sign to help guide you to the disc golf start area would be nice. Also some of the long tees are not very well represented. Went to play glow style Oct. 8th 2016 and only a few of the pins were lit up on the front 9.

I have been playing this course a lot recently, due to the proximity of my house. I enjoy this course a lot, some interesting technical shots mixed with some easier short holes. This is a feel good course for me compared to Kent State, Portage Lakes, Lincoln and the Arboretum but it has its challenges and keeps me sharp. The park is very well maintained and has better amenities than most of the other courses that I mentioned.

Played here for my first time today and really enjoyed it. Its a really nice course in a really nice park. I live right next door to the Portage Lakes course...and I love it...but it was refreshing to get out on the Wingfoot course where a lot of the holes are more open. Like most people have posted, there is a ball golf driving range that shuts down part of the course on Saturday and Sunday...noon to 7 I believe. There are a few places in the course where a newcomer might have a little bit of trouble finding the next tee pad, but overall the signage is great and easy to follow. Had a lot of fun at Wingfoot and I plan on making the trip over there to play on a regular basis.

I really enjoy this course, and have played it well the three times I've played it. Great mix of open and wooded shots, a few water holes that aren't too difficult. The course literally progresses in difficulty with each hole (IMO), Last 3 or 4 are pretty tough shots with the trees. Really like this course, the only thing preventing me from giving a A rating is that some of the holes get shut down in summer due to a driving range being on site as well.

Probably my favorite course right now. Well designed, good mix of holes. I'm partial to big open fairways which this course has plenty of. Really disappointed with the fact that they shut down holes 12-15 on saturday mornings for the driving range. Especially when no one is using it. Great course for most skill levels.

There are some nice open shots for beginners and some tricky water shots and tricky holes covered in trees. I have one major gripe though and that's the DRIVING RANGE in the middle of the course. They open it on the weekends and close what I believe is three or four holes. This seems not well thought out and something that needs to be addressed.

This course is VERY much improved since I took the last year and half off to deal with an MCL tear. The long/short layouts add a lot to the course. The shorts are very short. Mostly putter and mid range shots for experienced shooters. Some of them are very technical though and will force you to make shots. Good tees for beginners and excellent for practicing approaches and technical shots for seasoned players. The longs are a bit tougher. but nothing too difficult. They do force some technical shots and require a little distance (nothing over 400ft though), but they are still mostly red tees with a few whites. I am way more apt to come out and throw the course with them out there now.

My biggest concern is still safety hazards. There are a number of fairways bunched together and shanked drives could easily hit another golfer. Be aware of this as you play. There is also a lot of foot traffic on weekends. There isn't a big danger of hitting anyone, but definitely be aware of it. Most people don't recognize disc golf courses for what they are. All in all, I think the foot traffic is a positive. People area always asking me about the sport when I play. High school tennis matches are also played in between holes 1 and 11. They don't really effect play, but parked cars can make you think twice about some shots. Experienced golfers won't need to skip holes due to them. Again, more exposure for our sport here.

The only downside is the driving range on the weekends. Other than that, its a great course for beginners or even experienced players who what to work on their game. Its totally worth a stop!

decent course that uses the terrain and landscape well. water comes in to play on two holes, and can easily snag a disc on an errant throw. there are also a few really nice holes with elevation changes and tight fairways that are very challenging and fun to play. the flow was very easy to follow, and the baskets all had arrows indicating the direction to the next tee, which is always a plus. but honestly, nothing jumps out at me to say this is a great course. a good course yes, but not great. concrete tees may change that, as the areas near the kickboards was often choppy, making footing an issue. and some of the placement of the signage was also poorly thought out. but these are all easy things to fix, and hopefully some day they will do just that.

The park is well maintained and always clean. Bathrooms, pavilions, lake, mini golf and ice cream in the summer. It's a great place to play disc golf.

This is a huge park where you can do multitudes of other things. Good atmosphere and fun place. There is also a shop that you can get disks at although there isnt much of a selection.

An absolutely beautiful 18-hole course primarily with open holes inter-mixed with a few technical holes. The course is great for beginners and those who are being introduced into the sport of Disc-Golf. The course is located at the old Wingfoot State Park which used to be utilized only by Goodyear employees and is still located by the Goodyear Wingfoot Hanger across the lake. Occassionally you can still see some of the Goodyear blimps taking off, landing, or flying by.

Course details:

Scoring:

The course is scored at the basic normal Par 3 range with some Par 4's with ranges of holes going from the 100's of feet up to I believe 600 ft. max.

Obstacles:

There are many trees that create natural obstacles for some holes, but the course is mostly open for the most part. There is a lake that used to be utilized as a hard water hazard, but has since been changed to only brush the side of the lake for 1 or 2 holes max. There are some OB territories laid out such as roads, fenced areas, tennis courts, parking lots, et cetera; but be sure to watch out for joggers, bicyclists, dog walkers, et cetera that go by some of the holes. I cannot recall any holes that would have you shoot over any areas with such traffic, but one hole does have you throw down toward a lake and a sidewalk that could be a possible issue, but very unlikely.

There are some elevation changes that make the course very fun.

Mandos:

None that I recall, but there should be some due to some areas you should avoid anyways.

Tee-Pads/Baskets:

Most holes had good concrete tee-pads, some had you stand in a drawn in box in a parking lot. All the baskets are still in very good shape and look great.

Course Maps:

There is a practice basket by a bulletin board for disc-golfers that usually has score cards with the course map printed on it along with some pencils. None the last time I went, but most of the time there are enough supplies for the players. Most of the course is fairly simple to navigate, but there are some holes that can be a little difficult to locate with some extra walking involved. The hole maps by the tee-pads are fairly typical maps on wooden posts.

Extras:

This course has incorporated some interesting events in the past such as night-time playing (which I have yet to ever do) and I believe a zombie run... (you got me on this one.). You will likely see some glow-in-the-dark sticks tied into some of the chain baskets if you play. There is also a hut/stand nearby in the park that has sold discs in the past; I believe they still do if you ever find it open.

Negatives:

1) Some of the holes have picnic areas, playgrounds, volleyball courts, and a tennis court near the fairways or baskets of some holes, but nothing in which I have ever seen to be an issue... yet.

2) Again, be mindful of passerby's and bystanders; though most of the people appear to be familiar with the concept of the sport as there is always someone playing a game at this course.

2) I will always downgrade the rating of a course for the following: Trying to locate the next hole and not being able to find it, makes one feel lost and confused. At this course, there are a couple of Tee-Pads that are hard to find. I would recommend placing signs, arrows, or tags of some kind allowing players to know where to go next and not feeling lost and confused.

Summary:

Overall, I really enjoy this 18-hole Disc-Golf course and would easily classify the course at the Recreational/beginner level. The course is primarily open with some technical holes which makes the course fun. There are some slight elevation changes throughout the course, but nothing overall significant save for one hole in particular that goes out over an open field adjacent to a golf-range.
Though I believe the course is primarily a beginner level course, there are still many challenges throughout most of the course for the more advanced group of players.

The course itself is very well maintained and the park takes in visitors of all kinds, species, and ages; with a couple of very nice playgrounds throughout the park, miniature-golf, dog parks, et cetera. Bring the family, have a picnic, and have fun here!

Pros
- New park. Plenty of parking and grade A facilities. The winter event there was housed in a closed pavilion that had two large fireplaces!
- Amenities! Playground, putt-putt, basketball, volleyball, picnic tables!
- Billboard at hole #1 has a map posted along with course information
- The map is accurate and very helpful your first trip!
- Practice basket
- Wood chip tees with wooden kickboards are in good condition
- Next tee signs are helpful
- Baskets are in excellent condition and well marked with bright orange stickers
- There are poles clearly marking each tee
- This course requires a variety of shots but does favor the right turning thrower. After a few trips here I have had to use every throw in my arsenal.
- The scenery and landscape are beautiful with rolling hills
- There are only a few walking paths on a few holes so the traffic is mainly just other disc golfers
- Bathrooms are located at the pavilion
- There are trashcans and the course is very clean
- There is no vandalism
- Excellent upkeep and maintenance
- The water hazard on #6 & #7 really adds to the courses difficulty. For #6 all you do is throw (RHBH) out just over the edge of the water and then fade back toward the basket. The shot seems simple enough but I’ve seen A LOT of discs in the water!

Cons
- Most of the poles by the tees are in Horrible placement. You could easily slam your hand into them (RHBH).
- Could use a few more benches

Other Thoughts
- Fun family park
- The distance is a little short overall but the elevation changes and wooded holes are wonderful. No holes reach 400’ but there are 4 holes over 350’.
- The overall flow is a little awkward and it can be a little difficult your first time out. The land available really was used to it’s potential though. Kudos to the developers!
- Watch out for kids sledding on hole #11 in the winter. Get’s very busy there. And just walking up this hill is difficult in the ice. I had a miss put slide 80’ down the hill!
- Semi challenging course overall
- The most challenging hole is #10. Downhill on a small path with trees on either side make this a very technical hole.
- My favorite hole is #5. It’s simple, but the tee is elevated higher which makes this 366’ hole a possible ace if you can do a slight anhyzer shot.
- This course is worth planning a trip here but I would not label this a destination course. I would consider this course beginner friend even with the dangerous hole #6.

It is terrible from a flow perspective and is not worth the risk of losing a disc in the hazardous water. Literally hazardous. There is an algae bloom and it will cause the worst rash worthy of a doctor's visit if you enter the water to fetch a disc. The tee boxes will need work in the future. It has a few anhyzer holes. 10,11,12, and 14 kind of. Overall a fun small course and mostly friendly for beginners.

Course is maintained well and getting lots of play. The wingfoot zeppelins-disc golf society installed hole ones tee pad on mothers day may 13 th, 2012 and presently we have all the course done long and short pads. Glad to be a part of this project. Short tees are designed to not have water, a confidence booster of a layout for beginners through advanced players and a place to hone your approach skills. The long tees, this layout was designed to give am2 and down players a challenge while it should give the advanced player a boost in confidence if played smart all holes are easy. Soon will be a course temporary tournament only course challenges pros that will encompass all the Wingfoot land. Maybe later in 2014.

UPDATE, course is getting a little more fair as its use is increasing, and some grooming of some foliage has helped, especially since they trimmed up the bottoms of the pines. Some tee signs still need moved, but course is definitely improving. Definitely need some goretex if you are playing after it has rained, course gets saturated, especially holes 5, 11, and 17 down by the basket.
