The original course on the property and it is still fantastic. Where Wildwood has a defined wooded front 9 and open back 9, Deerfield changes it up on you on every tee, Having a big downhill bomber hole on number 5, followed by 3 very technical, tightly wooded fairways. This course keeps you on your toes, but will help you back up when you fall. Just such perfect mix of technicality, and strokes separation. Come find these 2 gems, tucked away and the heart of the mitten!

This is by far my favorite park in the area. I live in the heart of mt pleasant and will drive past the CMU course to play here. The short tee pads are friendly for every player and the longs add a nice challenge to more experienced players. Deerfield has it all when it comes to a disc golf course. Tight technical shots, to open bombers. Nice mix of forehand, backhand holes and great mix of elevation. Play both courses in the same day if you have time.

This course is great, not sure I can say it's with the tops in the state since I have played so few courses but with 2 courses on the property it rivals some of my favorites like Fallasburg Park in Lo ... show more ›

This course is great, not sure I can say it's with the tops in the state since I have played so few courses but with 2 courses on the property it rivals some of my favorites like Fallasburg Park in Lowell, MI or Burchfield Park in Holt, MI. I would say it's even better than BBG (beauty/Beast/Goliath) or Flip City over by Lake Michigan (Flip is still rated #1 MI on here). The parking fee is worth making a day of this place. Also worthy to note that when they built the Wildwood course, many of the original course mistakes were prevented with some forethought (tee-pad anti-mudpit extensions for example). I really appreciate the upkeep they do here and the layout of both courses, great mixture of all kinds of shots.

Amazing layout with some real beauties in and out of the trees. My technical skills have improved immensely since I began playing Deerfield (and Wildwood) regularly. These are special courses with picturesque, intelligently designed holes that offer elevation shifts, technical challenges, tight windows, and the occasional Beast Mode opportunity!

Cement pads with both long and short tees means solid footing and hole variety!

Notable holes: 5 & 14 are epic for long distance drives; the tunnel of trees on 13

I had a lot of fun on this course. It was first thing in the morning, so it was quiet and gorgeous. I even saw a family of deer on one of the holes. This course was a bit (not much) less technical than Wildwood, but it was so much fun to play. My favorite was the upshot through rows of red pine, right before the lake. Again, I was impressed by how well this course was maintained - mowed fairways, raked greens, not much trash, etc.

Two things kept this (and Wildwood) from an A+. One was that there was a bit of criss-crossing between different trails, etc. If it were a busy day, this could get a little dangerous. The second would be having a better picture of each hole, either on the tee sign or the card. You can't see the basket from the majority of the tees, so this would be very helpful the first time someone plays. Other than those minor things, it was great! Very well done!

I am very lucky to call these courses my home courses. They offer a variety of different shots, with lots of elevation change. Both courses have a few bomber holes, tight fairways, anyhyzer and hyzer shots, and ace runs. The fairways are always kept clean and offer some beautiful views. If you have not checked these courses out, you should!

Course Is being well taken care of and lines are well defined and posted with nice concrete tee pads. This is the toughest course I've played in terms of technical play. You have to be pretty accurate to stay out of the woods.This course has a bit of everything without being overwhelming, tight fairways, lots of obstacles and elevation changes, a few shots over water, distance marked on every tee, a long and short tee for every hole. There is a trash can almost every hole for bottles and other refuse, so players really dont have an excuse to keep the place nice. Maintenance crew works pretty tirelessly to keep the grass and everything really nice. Regardless of which course you play, you start from your vehicle and end right back at it with no hassle. You can complete both 18 hole courses in an evening no problem, or can do just one of the 18 hole courses pretty quickly without too much time out of your day.

The course always has a lot of players out there, and on the weekends absolutely packed. Yet the courses are so well designed that even when packed you wont really come across too many groups once you get going except when you cross paths moving from hole to hole where the course paths intertwine. I really do not understand how this course got a rating below some of these others which are more like open fields.... in my opinion Wildwood/Deerfield is the nicest course for more serious players or players who like a challenge... all for the price of a county pass for vehicle parking ($6 for the day / $25 annually). Do Deerfield, then chill on the beach on the lake with a bonfire and grilling out to recharge, then hit Wildwood.

Only negative for the Deerfield course really is holes which are pretty much surrounded by poison ivy (posted warning signs indicate area) so if you shank a disc, you best just leave it unless you know how to identify poison ivy and also have a way of cleaning the disc on hand in case it went into a patch.

GREAT GREAT Course!! If for some reason you don't like the first well balanced course, there's another full 18 right next door for you to play and attempt to conquer. Designers did a fantastic job with both 18's and made them both fair for beginner tees and also pro tees. Both 18's offer a challenge and wonderful day of discing for all skills. Yes there is a 6$ charge per car, but it's MORE than worth it, especially if 6 people are in the car. 6 bucks gets you in the park all day. Go play

I love this course! Being a native of Mt. Pleasant does make me biased, and since my alternative is the CMU course, this looks even better by comparison. Based in a county park, this course is very well maintained. The fairways are always well mowed, and the rough is usually open enough to make finding a wayward disc unproblematic.

Wonderful vistas of the wooded park only add to the wonderful diversity of shots necessary to score well on this course. It requires that nigh impossible combination of pinpoint accuracy and challenging distance. Fans of huge hucks mouths will water upon approaching the tee for hole 5, a massive bomb down a sledding hill is always worth a few tries for distance.

If you're new to the course, hole 2 involves a sharp curve to the right, and the basket is behind a bank marked with a small flag. This is difficult to access, and can be frustrating to find if you don't know what you're looking for.

Finally, the lively disc golf scene in and around Mt. Pleasant makes for a very active community. Leagues are commonly played here and CMU, and there are easily accessible short tee-pads for players searching for a faster or less challenging round.

Water also came into play on 17, as well as poison ivy areas on some holes which was also clearly marked. Enjoyable coarse and well maintained.

Probably one of the best technical course I've played. This course has everything a player could ask for, tight but forgiving fairways, a few bomber holes, a real thinking man's type course. Great use of the terrain, lots of elevation changes, a throw over the water. Pads all seem new, distance marked on every tee, a long and short tee for every hole. Course is very well maintained, every spot off the fairway where your bad tee shot might land is cleared of under brush while still leaving the trees and bushes in place. I couldn't find anything to complain about :)

The back 9 really opens up more to allow you to let loose and really reward a clean front 9 with an attackable back 9. Give this one just a little extra for all the rough to really be cleaned out and it could easily rival Flip.

Wildwood has great presentation. Tee pads are engraved with the name, great signage everywhere, well groomed, and a fun layout. Up and down hills in the woods, it reminds me of some traditional courses. Some of the basket locations can lead to getting "de la'd" as we saw a few putts hit wrong and roll 50' down a hill into the trees.

Notable holes: 8 is arguably the hardest hole between the two courses; the space around 10's basket is an aesthetic achievement; 11 makes me feel like I'm discing in the Shire

Played from the longs for my first round there and overall I have to say the course was quite challenging but not discouraging. Well maintained, every hole has at least a line or two. Very clean course. I don't see how I could give it anything less than an A+. Will definitely be going back to play very soon!

A really great technical course in Mount Pleasant, mostly wooded with lots of elevation changes. Everything is extremely well maintained, two 18 basket courses intertwined but well marked paths and tee signs made it easy. This course was a bit more difficult than Deerfield, but both were fun. A lot of trees to navigate, and some of the rough was really rough... but a good line goes a long way too.

This course is hands down the best course in Michigan. It has TONS of the fun factor that I always need, but also TONS of the WOW factor. Every hole is like WOW!. Elevations changes are off the charts. Water hazards. Basket mounted up in a boulder. Double tee boxes that have WILDWOOD written in cursive in the front of them. Awesome teepads! Blind baskets. Risk-reward shots are EVERYWHERE. Baskets on the side of hills for roll aways and elevation changes on your putts, even short putts. Elevated teepads. Etc.Etc.Etc. I thought that someday a course would be made to take the place of Flip City on the top of my book and that someday is here. Wildwood is a must play for everyone and take your camera.

Very cool Course. Although the layout is a bit confusing, the Course is well marked. Be aware though that ALL the Holes had a Long AND Short Tee. There are some really short Holes that were fun to play as well as challenging (for RHBH) left to right Holes through Trees. My biggest complaint was the Tee Boxes, although very nice, seemed short by a few feet, proving sketchy. You ALSO will have to pay to get in the Park itself, but the Course is definitely worth it! Loved it.

Log benches at each pad and the embossed Wildwood on the end of each pad is classy. Deerfield and Wildwood will rival other highly rated courses to be in the top ten courses in Michigan definitely. Will see about the country.
