In January 2016, the course is very well maintained. It is very scenic and it seems popular. I liked the stone wall and views of the Brandywine valley (I presume). The course is well marked, although it wasn't easy finding the first tee. BTW, the first tee is near the end of the parking lot and behind the wall all the way to the right! This is a very long course. The shots are long and there are significant elevation changes. Most the holes are in open fields that are spotted with trees here and there. Some of the longer holes go up hill. There is also some pretty long walks to get to the next hole. It took me about 110 minutes to play the course by myself.

Great course, very long and favors long distance throwers. The elevation changes are brutal. Its mostly open with no forest cover so wind can be a problem. Hole design is great but the rough is a little ridiculous, be ready to search a very long time in the tall grass/shrubs if you throw out of bounds. For those playing here for the first time, Hole 11 is on the other side of the rock wall near the practice basket and 18.

Don't let older reviews fool you, and the photos need serious up-dating. Only the very thin fairways have been mowed and you can literally go 3 feet off the fairways and lose your disc to 4 foot tall poison ivy/honeysuckle/thorn bush mixes. I lost 1 disc all year prior to playing here, and yesterday I lost 5 and found 2 other players discs. It's a shame because when I used to live in Delaware this course was one of my favorites, but I can't afford to lose $70 worth of discs like that.

Once I got the lay of the course (playing for first time) I had a lot of fun on it. I agree with many others that the rough is way to thick in the summer. I have lost discs on hole 4. I enjoyed the back nine more than I thought I would. As a beginner I enjoyed playing with the elevation and seeing what I could do. The only hole I thought was a gimmick was hole 9. There was no clear way into the tree and rock covered area (unless I missed it). Overall, I had fun on the course.

Easy to find. Fantastic scenery. Lots of elevation. Nice challenge. Good signage and concrete tees. Navigation is fairly easy without a map. Some really fun and memorable holes with alot of opportunity to air it out. Some tees in need of repair with some slight slopes and cracks. A little repetitive with the open shots. Park fee of $6 out of state between February and December. In the summer the rough is really brutal, and it can still be so in the spring, fall and winter, as well. The elevation can also be seen as a con due to some tough hikes, but it also provide, at least for this slacker, some well needed exercise. I've played this course multiple times and it was one of my first few ever. In the beginning I hated this course due to some of the hole lengths, the elevation and the fact that most of the holes are completely open. However, as I have improved my game, I find these same aspects to be absolute pros. I recently played here in a little snowstorm and I have to say it was one of my favorite DG experiences of late. The elevation can be tough with some long walks and throws uphill, especially #5 "THe Beast", but it truly does add to the whole experience as well. The pin placements help to augment each hole's layout and some are just great including 4, 6, 9, 14 and 16. Great use of existing strucutres including the rock walls, the water, an old well and the barn. Being as the course is open and set up high in rolling hills, the wind can truly become an added challenge, but I enjoy the ability to learn my discs better while playing this course. Overall, Brandywine is a little older of a course for an area that boasts Iron Hill and Carousel, but I still very much enjoy its uniqueness and it holds up very well as its own experience. It provides a great chance to learn how to throw for distance as well as to break in new discs. It is a solid course with a good dose of individuality and lots of fun.

Good Course. Not as technical as some of the newer courses like Carousel or Iron Hill though. Good course to develop distance, or learn a new disc. Avoid the rough in the summer. Its way too thick to find anything. The Beauty (4) and Hole 11 are awesome downhill shots, that both bring the creek into play. Because its so open though, I usually end up throwing the same long hyzer shot on many of the holes. It would be a little better if it forced you to adapt more, but the course does make good use of the elevation changes at the park.
