This is the gem of Tuscaloosa. Bowers was cleaned up pretty throughly at the end of 2019 and alot of the dead trees and underbrush were removed. The local club and PARA do a good job of keeping it better maintained.

With three different teepads and three different pin positions per hole this course doesn't get stale. It will test you shot shaping ability and is beautiful walk through the woods. If you haven't played Bowers recently I'd encourage you to.

This course was a fun. The first tee sign was broken and one of the pro tee boxes had halfway fallen into the creek. That being said it had 3 tee boxes at most holes so would be great for players of all degrees playing in a group. It had several elevation changes on holes. Baskets are not as well labeled as some other courses I have played but you can follow it easy enough. May be one of my favorites so far to just go out and have fun. Woods are open enough you can still play out hole on a wayward or ricocheted shot! I played course on 8.9.2020. I am new to the game and probably an average player.

Very nice technical course with plenty to offer. The first 3 holes are decently open and played through some nice trees. Everything else plays through some seriously heavy woods. All the holes were in the "C" configuration, which appeared to be the long setting for all but the first 2 holes. I can say that this is a course where you will need to be able to "thread the needle", or else get lucky with a ricochet.

Bowers Park appears to be a nice park. The signage was currently down for repair, and that definitely caused some confusion through the more heavily wooded areas. The
course was a tad bit overgrown. Just needs some TLC. Warning - Lots of poison ivy. There is a creek that follows the course through about 3 holes and that was nice, except that where the course crosses the creek, there is no bridge (excepting the giant fallen log which can be a risky move for those who aren't sure-footed).

There are concrete pads for all the Red Tees and carpet pads for White and Blue Tees, which was a nice feature. I noticed trash bags and benches at almost all the tee pads, definitely something all courses should have.

Overall, I enjoyed my time here, and look forward to coming back when the signage is up and the course has been groomed.

This is a super fun course. The first three holes are wide open and fairly easy, but holes 4-18 are all in the woods with very tight fairways and lots of elevation change. There are multiple pin placements and multiple tees. This was slightly problematic as the current pin placement was not identified on the map, so I had to walk some of the fairways to spot the pin on blind drives. Other than that, the course was very easy to navigate and super fun to play.

This is a difficult but good course. I give this course an A+ because its very professional and very scenic. However, if you are worried about losing a disc or new to the game, you should not play this course. The majority of holes are deep in the forest and full of very thick vegetation. Many nice elevation changes and turns right and left with lots of variety. Apart from the difficulty, everything else about this course is perfect. There are different hole locations.

This course could be SWEET! There is a ton of shule after you get past hole 3, all the way to 18. It plays like ERP, brutal from the long tees. With some major shule removal, this would be an easy A. All the shule looks like its been cut, and left in the fairways. You could throw from the middle of the fairway, and be standing on piles of limbs and debris.
