1-6 are solid. My wish for Schenley is that a few of the baskets between 7 and 17 are moved off of that hillside and out into the adjacent park. It looks like there’s room across Overlook towards the pool, or wrap around the Veteran’s Pavilion like some tournaments do.

As it is, going up and down that small area feels repetitive, and pretty hazardous when it’s crowded.

I love this course! The front 9 offers some of the best "Par 3" action in the Greater Pittsburgh Area (even if hole 2 is notoriously long for a par 3...). I make trips to this course all the time if I'm spending the day in the city, wanting to introduce friends to disc golf, or if I'm just looking to work on my shot shaping without wanting to lose my discs. In contrast to the front 9, the back 9 is much more technically challenging, offering tight fairways, low ceilings, and plenty of guardian trees.

A bonus to this course is the view of the city from the teepad of hole #1 - truly great for sunrises and sunsets!

This is where I learned to disc golf. It’s a beautiful course perfectly nestled in practically the heart of the city. It’s still my favorite course to play although I’ve played several others since beginning. Very beginner friendly and also challenging enough to have fun. Would definitely recommend trying this course if you’ve never played it.

Only legit Par 4 is on Hole #2. Good elevation changes. I use a wide variety of discs on this course. Got an ACE on #10 over the top of the downed tree on Labor Day 2018. Fun course. Only 18 hole course w/in 30-35 miles. Many ACE runs out there.

I love Schenley. This is a great course to really work on your mechanics if you are a beginner and a great course to just have fun and play. Challenging? At times it can be with all the trees on the back 9. This is my favorite local course to play because I can take friends who are new to the game and they still have fun.

If your looking for a quick game this is the place to go. As long as there is no big groups in front of you. Some are nice enough to let you go through and others don't care. Hole 2 is a nice wide open par 4 with a nice small downhill shot. Perfect hole for testing out new high speed drivers. Also this site lists hole 2 as a par 3 when again, it is a par 4. So finishing at a +3 for an amateur isn't to bad considering I really only get out once every 2 weeks to play a round or 2.

The course lacks creativity and adventure that may be found in more mountainous areas. Seems to be a good course for beginners (like myself).

Decent little course that is definitely beginner-friendly. Concrete tees for some short red tees, which are generally under 200 feet, and white tees, that are generally under 250 feet. There is designations for blue tees with some kick boards, but they are not concrete. The course had great signage with all tees and the 3 multiple pin positions mapped out at each the red and white tees. The course flow was also easy to navigate, as you could almost always see the basket you are throwing to and the next tee sign from the basket to the next hole. The course is not very difficult, but a heck of a lot of fun to play. The wooded holes use the hillside for some nice elevation changes and have some tight fairways that make the technical game important here, but don't have much distance. It's a great spot to practice on drives with putter and mids, and there are a few holes where you can let one rip. I'd play this course again if I was in the area, but it would most likely be saved for a round with the family or some other beginners.

ahhhhh... this course is okay... longs are okay and they say they have 3 different tees and i was looking for the longest but i only saw the 2 cement pads. navigational nightmare if you never played. longs are easy and shorts are not even worth playing... threw the putter on i wanna say 15 of the 18 holes from the shorts... i cant believe i didnt get an ace, did hit basket on 15!

Schenley is an old school DG course, installed in 1988. Very tight in places and holes are often close to each other, making league nights an exciting time to watch other players shots to be sure you don't get hit! Course upgraded with Mach3 baskets and new tee signs in 2008 Concrete tee pads on Red and White tees.

I love Schenely. It was one of the first courses I ever played. It's not the most challenging on earth, nor the best eye candy. It does offer a small amount of challenge, but that challenge lies within the trees and not actual difficulty. There are a couple throw and hopes, and some super easy holes. A few years ago I would had given it a B, but after travelling the country and living elsewhere seeing what's available I gotta keep it real. The course is SUPER well maintained for being in the City of Pittsburgh, and the local club dedicates alot of time. It's definitely worth playing.
