Tyler has the most variety of any course in PA. All 36 holes have three pin positions and almost all holes have Long and Short teepads. The East Side course is beautiful and includes elevation changes, water, bunkers, elevated baskets. The West Side has greater elevation changes and requires more hiking up and down and several more long full-power drives. Every hole is unique and the entire course offers a serious challenge to veteran players.

This course is great for all levels of skill. I have only been playing disc golf for a little over three years and this course is still challenging to me. I mean that in the best of ways. I chat my improvement with how I score at Tyler. The amount of love and care that BCDGA continues to put into the course, especially getting West back up, is truly awe inspiring.

Very challenging course in any layout, but if you want the ultimate challenge, all C pins are what you are looking for. This course requires you to use all different types of shots from backhand, forehand, rollers, thumbers and tomahawks. Also West Side has improved immensely. The new holes on West Side are coming together with work being done on the B pins currently. The bunkers are built up with fallen logs, branches and sticks.These bunkers are unique because I don't see these on too many other courses.

Tyler 1-18 East: Hardwood canopy, tee markers with pin indicator dial for multiple pin placements, (long and short tees on most holes), benches, bag hangers, water stations, and bathrooms. Good mix of right, left, and straight drives from tees, technical shots needed, some open holes to for big arm shots. Outstanding use of terrain and elevation. Water comes into play on a few holes. Watch out for OB and mandatories. "It's the Hard that makes it "Great!"

Tyler 19-36 West: 18 holes back on line and becoming as great as the East...Wonderful use of terrain and elevation. All sleeves are in place for A, B, & C pin positions.
Bring your best game and don't let your guard down.

After 4 years of playing disc golf and trying other courses Tyler is still my favorite. Not only do they maintain the course year round the club also run winter and summer leagues as well as many tournaments. If you plan to play here just a warning, they move all the baskets to the “c” position in preparation for the Yetter tournament. That is actually when I got interested in the sport. They move the baskets every three weeks to a new position to create a sense of newness every time I’m there. If you want a challenge this is the place.

I am not sure why this course is so highly rated. I went there to play the east 1-18. They only had the C baskets in which are very challenging. There are long and technical shots. The tee pads are small and baskets are old. My biggest problem was that from the holes to the next tee at times was a far walk. It completely takes away the momentum of your round. There are places you can lose a disc.

It is definitely a beautiful park, and has a lot of disc golf holes but I don't know why people love this disc golf course.

Not my favorite course. It has many pros and cons. The number 1 pro being the views. It's in a beautiful park with holes overlooking the river below. Solid signage and fairly easy to navigate. Now the cons, first off, nearly all of the baskets were in the closer A position, so the front nine was essentially the same hole over and over again: a dead straight 200ish chuck. I didn't pull out anything over a mid range until the back nine. It got kinda boring. The back nine seemed to use the terrain and landscape far more efficiently including some nice pin positions. Even on the back nine though I felt there was a wealth of room for improvement on the layout and flow of the holes.

I actually like this course a lot, and will play again the next time I'm in the area. Would like to see the course set up to be all one letter designation (A, B, or C basket location) for all holes each time, rather than random from hole to hole, which makes it impossible to measure improvement on the course each time you play it. Nevertheless, it was fun and challenging with decent flow and good variety of straight, right, and left hole designs. I also do not care for the high number of baskets that are mounted on elevated wooden pedestals. That would be OK for one or two as a novelty, but there are many like that.

Pros: -Beautiful course set in the woods of Tyler Park.
-The course has a nice balance of easy and challenging holes. Not sure how ofter the pins are moved but the "C" pins are very challenging on some holes.
-Majority of holes are in the shade
-Good use of elevation
Cons: -Some holes (23 and 27) when the pin is in the "C" position should have different pars. They may be different but it isn't reflected on the tee marker.
-Tee Markers may say pin is in one position but it is actually in another spot
Other Thoughts: The last 3 holes were out in the open and I really wanted some shade at the end of my day. It was hot and muggy, so bring lots of water.
Can't wait to bring my friends here to play.

This was the 1st course that I have ever played over 10 years ago. Over those years, the Tyler community has thrived and really stepped it up with the new course layouts and maintenance on a regular basis. There is a solid mix of short mid and long hole with pin placements changed on the regular. This is a great course for beginners and seasoned vets alike and it's very easy to navigate through. If you are in the area or you have to travel to get there, it's hands down the best course in the area and a must play. O yea, it's FREE as well. If I didn't live in CA, I would go right now so just grab you bag and go for me.
