A combination of both wooded and long open holes. It felt like I was playing two different courses as the open areas are not shielded by the wind (it was windy) and the wooded areas are completely calm. Signage needs improvement as I got lost a few times. If you go through the entire course, you will be tired, a lot of hills and a lot of distance. Overall great course, and great park in general (nice trails as well)

Just played all 24 holes from short tees with baskets in the longest placements. Seriously challenging course, one of my new favorites. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area. Great mix ... show more ›

Just played all 24 holes from short tees with baskets in the longest placements. Seriously challenging course, one of my new favorites. Definitely worth the visit if you are in the area. Great mix of open and woods holes, and some perilous basket placements mean that you may be hiking a little more than you expected. This course will test every shot in your bag as well as your stamina. Don't miss it, it gets the A+ due to the extra six holes.

Really wanted to give this course a higher rating because I really did like it. The draw back was the tee pad signs. I love the fact there are so many placements to keep it fresh but they weren't clearly marked what placement they were in at that time. Some that were marked were incorrect specifically 13 was marked b but in a position. 15 was marked in the shortest but really in the longest down by the lake I didn't even think it was there so gave up and went to 16 when I finally saw the basket. On a few holes I had to walk halfway up the fairway just to even know what line to take before throwing.18 had no sign. Second round would of been 10x better but 24 holes took almost 3 hrs and I'm sure next chance I get to drive here it will all be different, probably a great option for the locals but very frustrating for first time visitors.

Pros:
-Some very cool holes.
-Very nice "next tee" signs
-Holes are maintained very well

Cons:
-Way to many pin placements. (5 or more per hole)
-Tags hanging on the tee post are rarely correct for the pin placement.
-Some of the newer holes seem forced into the original layout and create an odd flow
-Tee signs not very good.
-No course map.
-No score cards.

Suggestions:
Instead of investing money in more pin placement sleeves, the money should go towards updating the tee signs and adding a main sign with a course map. Also getting rid of the tag system on every sign post and just put one tag on the main sign with the current pin position.

Pros: Wide range of hole layouts considering both elevation changes and fairway foliage. Multiple tees and pin locations. A couple of very fun holes particularly around the dam. Cons: Three holes have fairways that narrow down to about five feet - that makes it just dumb luck for a player with modest skills like myself. A couple holes have no obstructions at all. One hole is along the side of a cliff. A couple pins are within a few feet of OB's.

A big thank you to the members of MOVDGC and the staff at Forked Run State Park for making this course what it is today. I think this course is near perfect. It has any shot you could imagine. You could play tournaments in Reedsville he next ten years and never see the same course layout. If you have not played Forked Run you are missing a true gem.

Several times while driving through SE Ohio, I have angered many a family member by suggesting that we take "just a quick detour" and play a round of disc golf at this really great course down near the river. The remoteness of this place is the only drawback to what is otherwise an excellent course laid out with lots of variety, challenges and some really cool target placements. It is well worth the journey and the only regret I have is that I don't live closer.
