Welcome to Noodle Arm Central. Lohmann Park's is located behind an elementary school. Averaging right around 225' for its 9 holes, this course is perfect for beginners. Lohmann's short length and lack of punishment for bad shots is perfect for working on new shots and discs. I have improved significantly in the past 5 years, so this course is now all ace runs and fun birdie attempts. Decent variety of shots for a short course, and has quality Discatcher Baskets. Fairly nice concrete tee pads. Alternate tees hard to find or not always marked. Navigation is easy, and the park is always well maintained.
While there is some decent shot shaping, particularly on holes 1, 3, 5, 6, and 8, they are all short and open enough to make birdies fairly easy and bogeys rare. The alternate tees add some distance and difficulty, but the markers are hard to find and not really worth seeking out. There is usually no traffic on this course, so seeking and destroying he alternate tees isn't a problem.
This is a great 9 hole course for beginners (especially considering what the designers had to work with), and provides enough shot shaping to entertain players with more experience. If you want much more of a challenge and longer shot selections head across town to Dodds Park.
