Awesome course located just off interstate I-80 in a nicely maintained city park. Concrete tee pads with both a short and long pads. Most holes also have multiple pin placements that get rotated throughout the year. Technical course that has good elevation changes and requires a lot of different shot shapes. Fair amount of shorter ace runs or easy birdies but also has a couple that you get to let loose on. There is a small creek that can come into play on a couple holes on errant shots. The is almost always some degree of wind out there that always makes things interesting. The elevated basket on a stump at the top of a hill on hole 18 that can make or break your round is a fun finish. If you in the area definitely worth the stop to play.

I enjoyed the course layout except that signs, arrows, markers etc need maintenance. Almost half of the tee signs were either missing or the information had peeled off so finding our way around took some effort. I created an updated course map

and printing it ahead of time will be necessary if it is your first time. The course has had a moderate overhaul in the past few years so even if you played it several years ago you should review the map. For example, the second tee is between the barn and the pine trees and is marked by paint on the asphalt. Locating it had us lost for a while. Nice open area for practice (3 practice holes). This is a windy location in general as evidenced by the 2 wind turbines visible nearby and the wind really becomes a factor on a few downhill shots. In summary, hilly and windy with quality turf maintenance but tees, signs and baskets could use some TLC. Regardless, if you are getting bored with playing the same old courses in town and wanting to find something nearby that is worth a 20 mile drive this one definitely is!! You will not be disappointed. Elevation, wind, mostly open, well maintained turf, good for families and new players, usually not very busy at all.

Mostly open course, but makes up for it with a good bit of elevation. Some long holes and inevitable Illinois wind make it challenging. A handfull of holes were really fun. Well manicured, too. On the down side the signage was awful. No map anywhere, hard to follow course flow since it is pretty open, and some of the baskets were misnumbered. Also it plays right next to the interstate so it makes for a noisy round.
